in the long run I would still say buying a epson would be cheaper. but sending your old cartridges back and having them refilled if they where the xl version would also be a good idea. 1 small problem though in the fact after a time the heads would wear out, unless they are replaced at refilling. Think! they can only be refilled about/upto 10 times before the heads would be completely useless.
and the refilling is cheaper than the ones i posted, a saving of over £3 what i posted, but really would depend on the quality of ink used.0 -

I must have spent hours searching for the cheapest HP301 and then HP301XL recently and welcomed your advice, then out of the blue, my daughter said "try Argos".
They do a double pack, HP301 XL black & HP301 XL colour, for 19.98. Checked if my local had any, it seems two packs only so reserved them and will pick up later today. for that £19.98 you'll get 1 color and 1 black cartridge, considering the amount of ink inside the XL cartridges is almost double the standard size which is what you ordered.
The XL black cartridge holds 8ml, so i would assume that the one you purchased is only around 4ml per cartridge, and the XL color cartridge only holds 6ml, which isnt 6ml per colour but 2ml of each color making a total of 6ml.
I would suggest you get a program called inksaver here is a link to a demo version http://www.inksaver.com/overview/demo.html 15 day trial. and then click on the buttons on the left to see what it does and how it does it. its a good program, most printer use to much ink when printing.
I installing this on my computer and my neighbours, I printed 2 pictures up, 1 without inksaver and 1 with, and choose a default setting of 25% on the one with. 25% less ink used and i showed my neighbour the pictures, asking her which one looked better. she choose the inksaver 25% picture.0 -
Andy, before we talk about your last post, at Argos the ink package came up at £15.99 each.
As for the contents, no-where on the pack does it mention the contents. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
