    DIY :p

Only joking that must be impossible! Does sound quite an expensive salon! Last time I had half head it was under £40. Could you get away with just having the T? Normally works out cheaper. Or go to the local hair dressing college (if you trust them) :money:.

When DD was born I had to do something with my hair so bought some deep red dye and got my Mum to do it. But now I want it light again.

can you get someone to come to your home? They seem to be cheaper if they do that, and much easier for you!

Thanks frugalfrog, I've been to college and the haircut was nice, but the hours they do it mean I won't have anybody to look after my monkey (2 year old and 1 day today:j)
The half head is £67 and full head is £73 (my hair is long) so I think I rather have full head. They gave me £10 off voucher as I've been there before, so it will be now £63 for full head highlights, cut and blow dry so I booked it for Tuesday - just in case my baby monkey is in rush I want it done ASAP to look a little bit less scary on the pics with new baby;)

thanks Sepa,I was thinking about it. I used to have a nice mobile hairdresser but she was so good she saved up and she just opened hair own salon (too far for me to go though). I was trying to find another one but no luck.

I'm not going for DIY again until I absolutely have to, because of previous experience:rotfl:

:DSo that's my excuses for treating myself : :D
    • I'm going to be stuck in a house (or nearby parks) with new baby anyway so I'm thinking I'll save up on shopping.
    • I won't buy any new clothes until I'm my normal size again and than I got 3 wardrobes of clothes so I'm good till next Boxing day I think:cool:
    • Same goes for shoes - I only need summery ones, so that's good couple months still left.
    • Going out will be impossible for a while
    I nearly convinced myself I shouldn't feel guilty now:rotfl:

You shouldn't feel guilty about treating yourself. We pay off the mortgage to feel good (to feel secure etc), so if this is something that would make you feel good and you've thought hard about it, just do it.

You have to have a life. Where people come unstuck is if it's all 'wanna wanna wanna' and instantaneous gratification. You've thought about it, ergo it's not instantaneous and you know you really want to do it, so you should go ahead.

Like Katsu with her photo phone back plate - what a little thing to bring so much pleasure, they're a bargain!!

Yeah I agree with Sepa, you shouldnt feel guilty treating yourself every now & then. Life would be awful with no little treats. After having my DD I treated myself to a full body massage & hair style spending about £150! but after your body going through everything for 9 months, you need to feel a bit special :D

Its when you start spending £100's weekly on "stuff" that is really not necessary, just because you get that buzz from buying.

    Thanks!
Your comments made me feel better. I'm feeling just a tiny little bit guilty now:o 2 mini magnum ice creams I just had lifted my mood as well:D

We were looking today at mattresses for our guest bedroom double bed that is going to be a permanent toddler bed/emergency guest bed from now on. I wanted a good supportive mattress for his growing bones but the prices are just scary. At Dreams we've seen good one for £650(and that's half price already:eek:) and tomorrow we are going to check Bensons. I bought one from Amazn 2 years ago and it's horrible so I want to touch and feel the new one before buying through TCB(I'm a cashback convert:D)

And as they're half the size they only have half the calories so you can eat twice as many ;)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I'm the same with mattresses. We paid over £500 for our mattress, but that is coming up to 10 years ago  but it still feels like a new mattress. I wouldn't bother wasting £200 on a cheap mattress which will have to be replaced in a few years (and get a bad back in the mean time!). And they are not really something I would like to buy second hand :p

Look for high quality shop clearences at more upmarket places than the cheap matress places.

picked up a Tempur and VI-spring doubles both under £500.

You can get some decent memory foams on-line.
