Thanks, I am really confused about those mattresses - we want something decent that would last but without paying more than £500:D

I'm nearly convinced for the benson one, as it will come up as just under £400 inc delivery. and 6% TCB cashback as well;)

We just wait for the new 0% CC to arrive, so we won't have to touch the savings while they nicely earn 5% for us where they are.

I just had another price shock - if I want to see my parents I need to pay around £300:eek: - that's double what I used to pay for plane tickets! only because my son is over 2yr old...and there would be another baby with us...

I used to go 3-4 times a year but with those kind of prices I just can't make it! It's very depressing!

On the plus side, although my spreadsheet shows grocery spend nearly £650 this month, £270 is for food (I thought it would be around £400, so pleased with that). The rest is petrol, clothes, nappies, haircuts (and highlights:o) and a lot of it is due to stock piling(like nappies at half price).

Our eating out came well under budget - £8 for sandwiches - due to me being under home arrest :D I am not allowed to go anywhere further than 10min walk without assistance until baby monkey arrives:rotfl:
Only because I nearly fainted once...:o

my freezer is full of ice creams though (my recent craving) and we spend staggering £40 on sweets alone last month!

Little monkey had a first day on his own at playgroup today, had a great fun and only once asked for mama! So proud of him!:T hope that continues...

    On the to do list:
1.STILL to hand wash hospital bag and finally pack it
    2. finish new proposal and get paid for things I already done:mad:

    Hi Weronika,
Congratulations on your impending arrival. I'm the same with stocking up on nappies when they're on offer, we have literally hundreds in different sizes on top of our wardrobe!

Re the highlights, have you tried buying Groupon vouchers for them? My hair is long so highlights usually cost a fortune, but I buy Groupons for between £25-£30 a time that also include a cut usually.

Thanks, I still got 23 days left but I don't think she will stay put that long:D

I bought groupon once and when I called to booked it she said they have already booked 300 people and can only offer me app 3 months down the line.

They refunded the money without problem though, so that's ok.

Also, at the moment I can't travel so my options were limited and I had to swallow £73:eek: as the most reasonable in my neighborhood.

For some reason all the mobile hairdressers I know of were not available either!:(

Hi Weronika, just caught up and spotted your question re: TCB. I've never done that one there so I'm not sure tbh. Have you seen the lovefilm offer? Cashback and Next vouchers for a free trial and there are never any problems cancelling with them. They just need a few days notice.

Hope you are feeling ok, these last few weeks are hardgoing and tiring.

    Hi CathT,

my OH already have lovefilm so I'll see if it goes by person or by address:p

I'm feeling very tired, very in pain, very fed up of not being able to walk! And I complain so much I don't even like hearing it myself anymore:rotfl:

Soon I'll have my baby monkey and I will have new reason to complain - sleepless nights:cool:

I finally managed to wash my hospital bag and I also washed in special powder all those cute baby outfits. I can pack my hospital bag tonight and that go back to my sofa and eat more ice creams:j

I am so worried now about the mortgage rate hikes - it looks like when we come out of our fix next April it will be worst possible moment! As I will have no income we won't be able to move banks, we will be at the mercy of whatever they throw at us.:(

Luckily, our current OP, although still smaller than I thought we could manage, should take our LTV down to 60% and this would enable us to access some better deals. If it's no more than 5% we will manage, otherwise I will need a serious kick and get to work full time instead a part time I'm planning for the first 2 years - but depending on the childcare costs and ever changing working tax credits - it all could become very, very tight.

I'll save money on food though - I got all this baby weight to lose anyway:D

My new goal is to save £500 each month in my reg saver - the Feb and March payments came from my previous reg saver so they don't count. So I have around 10 days to make £500 for April, after that my MA will go there for 9 months. It should be doable...hmm... with no spending whatsoever:rotfl:

    Off to work:D

    eating ice creams again:D

new accounts proved worth the switch - £4 and £5 as we have not credited it straight away with max allowed.next month it should be £20, but I'm not sure how they calculate interest on days when the balance go nill but I transfer money in the same day evening. (it's a bill paying accounts, so DDs go out and than I move money from savings to get the max level, but the alert text message usually comes after couple hours)

We promptly spend the extra money on toy for my little monkey:D

another spend: petrol £64:mad: but still lower than with old car:cool:

    I'm stuck in bed:mad:
to move around I need painkillers, but it's 3rd day and the labour is not progressing. At least I'm at home.

On the bed news front, I send my invoices out and didn't even get acknowledgment they were received. I can't just pop into their office anymore - anyway what I would say, that I came on my way to hospital and give me my money or I'll have my baby here and there?:rotfl:It's more than a £1000 so if they think I'll just forget about and write it off due to the [STRIKE]pain[/STRIKE] joy of having a baby they are terribly wrong!

On the money saving front Morri$$on near us had a makeover - I can't find anything anymore in store:mad: - but they send us nice 3 x weekly vouchers for the £5 off £40 or £3 off £25 shopping which is handy.:j

I'm dreading my gas bill as I'm at home now all the time and I used to be out for most of the day - and the heating is on much more often than it used to be. Still, at least it feels warm after 10-15min from putting heating on, before loft and walls insulation I had to put extra electric heater in a bathroom!

If anybody is still on the fence about it I would strongly recommend grab the grant and insulate your home!

    Hey Weronika,

Just popping in to say hi! It sounds like you're really suffering at the moment - let's hope baby makes her mind up what she's doing soon! At least you're all ready for hospital now the bag's packed.

Good luck with the £500 target too! :)

    Hi Vicky:wave:
    thanks for popping in!

yup, I'm all ready and impatient now, especially that I can#t move much so very boring/occasionally painful when I have to attend to my toddler.

£500 is an ambitious goal but I discovered if it's too easy it wouldn't motivate me:p That would mean no extra spending whatsoever and it's not very realistic in this way BUT although I am not allowed to work while on maternity I am allowed 10 KIT days, so maybe if I find 4-5 clients with an easy, quick projects I could make it:D I send invoices for the work I done in Feb/March so I'll have (when they pay:mad:) 2 months taken care of my reg saver. so I only need to find additional £4000 to reach my goal, easy-peasy:rotfl:
