I've tried saltwater gargling, honey lemon water, vapourub, nothing seems to be as effective. I feel like the more I get them, the more my home remedies don't work!

    Any cures please, please, share!:o
    TIA

It might be shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted but over the last few weeks, whenever my DD or I have felt the first sign of a cold we have taken the maximum amount of vitamin C from our Boots stash. Seems to have a good 'nip it in the bud' effect.

I suppose it could be worse ....you'd be more embarrassed if you had a fb user name like Nanny McPhee, Batman etc....or French Knickers :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I needed that! Thanks!:beer:

I had nothing todo with the reporting of you and I have nothing against you all that was meant that if a person wanted to skip through lots of non related bargain talk they can do so by going fast forward and pick up the thread in the morning.

Um, what's the title of this thread again? I think you and your opinions are in the wrong place...anyway I have enough trouble keeping up with all the bargains and glitches that you post, what were they again?

Perhaps you would have a fair opinion if you bothered to make a useful contribution once in a while.

HC he/she's not singling you out they would just like all our bargains listed in a clear and concise manner for everyone to read and clear the shelves but don't want to actually find or share anything themselves.

    Seems reasonable to me!;)

    And get lots of glitches!

Sorry, just seen your post. No it wasn't backed up on iCloud but think that I will in future.

Added to my problem is the fact that my lappie crashed and I had to restore that as well.:o:o I did this (eventually) from the system image that I had backed up on a portable HDD. As I said, I'm not a techie or as my OH says 'you seem to spend all (?) your time backing up and restoring and it still not working' He said he doesn't mean it rudely.:):)

Right, ok. Connect your phone to iTunes using the cable then open iTunes. Where your phone is listed down the left hand side right click on your phone and select 'Restore from backup'. That will bring up a list of all your backs up and should be dated and time stamped. The most recent one is what you want. If backups have been lost through one thing or another then I'm guessing the only way to get them back is through professional recovery. And that's not guaranteed to work.

You could try finding the folder where iTunes backs up your pictures too and see if the pictures you are looking for are in there.

Backing up to iCloud is fine but I certainly wouldn't rely on it when it comes to doing a restore as it would take forever, even over WiFi. However it is an additional security net. When backing up to iCloud the phone will no longer back up to your computer. However you can do this manually (I do it once a week just to be sure, and immediately before I do a restore or update.

To manually back up to your computer connect your phone to your computer using the cable and open iTunes. Right click on your phone where it appears on the left hand side and select 'backup'.

  • I saw a lot of Denby sets yesterday with a big A4 sign saying that they were half price - £85.00 down to £42.50.

I know in the past Cool Blue has gone thorough at £85.00 so took a chance on it and it did again. I went to CS and told them I had been over charged. The CS lady called the Manager who apologised for the error and said he would authorise my refund of £42.50 as although the offer should have only applied to Black Pepper, he would honour the price on the sheet - "as £42.50 was obviously the price you were happy to pay when you picked it up."

I said that I had been happy to pay that at that time but I had now just seen the 'If things don't add up...' sign so thought that should apply.

In the end he gave in and refunded the £85.00 so it really pays to stand your ground. The CS lady laughed and said "I'm glad you stood up for yourself" - I think some of them get fed up with Management trying to wheedle their way out of following company policy.
