I think (and hope anyway!) that I speak for all of us here- you feel free to come and chat away on here- we are all here for you through, good, bad, ugly or sad. Sometimes it helps "talking" to strangers
Much love to you both xx
i agree, sometimes it is a lot easier talking to strangers especially when going through hard times. You need an outlet of some sort.0 -

I have a hand towel in the bathroom for everyday use that gets hidden if people come round. The display towels only get used by guests. However I change the set and wash them weekly and refold them daily ocd or what:o
If we have beautiful things, we must use them. They give pleasure, so it's wrong not to appreciate them. With kids it might be a bit different when they're young, but even so we should teach them to enjoy things and treat them with respect.
We bought a load of Villeroy & Bosch New Wave tableware for a treat some years ago, at first we put it away for best but then I said we should use and appreciate it and we do. A friend who works in hotels was horrified we used it every day and put it in the dishwasher, but it's designed to do it and it works. For things we use every day we should use nice things if we will enjoy and appreciate them. Life's too short not to - and they really don't have to cost a lot if you do your research . T K Maxx are brilliant for fantastic quality Turkish cotton towels which give you a cuddle every time you get out of the bath or shower - and work it out over the years they'll last and they are near free as dammit.
For the price of a takeaway you could have something in your home that would give you 15 or 20 years of pleasure every day.:)Hope is not a strategy.0 -

I have managed to upload some of the excel docs to ICloud, but didn't realise at first that it then had to be viewed on the IPad before I could open it again on my Mac in ICloud. As you say I hope they sort this out with Mountain Lion as it seems a bit of a faff!!! I am waiting to get the new iPhone 5 when it comes out later in the year so it would be great to be able to network all 3.
I have quite a few excel docs so I may be gone a while ......
Thanks so much for your help, please let me know if I am being really thick or a complete pain::D:D
I don't know about opening Excel docs on the iPad though unless there are specific apps for this? and if there is, are they iCloud compatible?
My advice would be, if you're not going to use the old desktop just convert them all to 'Numbers' and use them that way. You can download the Numbers app for your Mac from the Mac app store and the Numbers app for your iPad through the normal app store and are quite reasonably priced. They are just as good, if not better than Microsoft products.0 -

My garage cupboard is heaving under the strain of softener
I stocked up when it was working out at 5p before Xmas. I got 8 more this week because they were free. Might go out later and add up how many 'washes' I have and see how long that should last. I can donate some to my brother when he gets his own place but I think some of the stuff will go off before I get to use it so bar trying to flog it, anyone any suggestions for where it could be donated?
I'm not sure if they'll take it but there is a food bank in Newtownards started. details on the site below
