Im trying to have a go at this SSm thingy, (thank you to Op who mentioned this, It seems to be really popular here at the mo!!

Ive just got a few things that I dont understand.. how do I 'like' a message to help others? There is the thumbs up symbol, but that says it marks it as a favourite, is that the same thing?

What about the rewards? do you have to claim them as you get them or can you save them up? Can you still choose what they are for/which shop etc if you save them up?

    hi lindos90

Some are Boots and most (for me) have a drop down box with Tesco or Sainsbury to choose from. I prefer Tesco;) as good offers on in there at the moment with Flash, Oral B and Fairy all costing nought or 24p (toothpaste is half price at £1.24).

ps I haven't been able to see what they are for until after the coupons have been printed. Just the store.
  • Hi Guys in work so cant read back. Just noticed this on main board sorry if already added

Now this is what we all need for all the glitches and cheap items. You could get even more in the garage (apart from the comfort that is lol)

  • Hi

Has anyone else noticed that the Vicks coupons although saying £1 off have 88 on the digits in the barcode where it's normally the amount it's going to take off?

    Does that make sense?

I have added a few more stickers to my total but not really liking the Boots ones* - is it just me? Not sure I will find anything cheap enough to use them on.

*The ones I have are for Max factor, Olay, Venus and Nice and Easy.

Oh I threw those out, I couldn't think of anything I wanted, and nothing apart from the wipes were on offer it seems!

    Morning everyone
I was just reading all the posts about training people in our ways and realised the best people I train are my children. They regularly go to MrM or MrT to spend their pocket money. The first thing they check are the reduced sections. They never spend their money on anything that is full price, if they want a game they wait until it comes down in price. They check cinema listings and then ask if I will buy the film they want when it comes out on dvd as its cheaper than seeing it at the cinema:money:
I think that at 13 and 11 they are learning life skills that will be of great benefit when they eventually move out. If friends take the mick because they didn't buy a game the day it came out they laugh and say yes but I could get two for the price you paid for one:j

Sorry for waffling have a good day everyone.

I'm like that, it was built into me as a child. We were always fine for money but my mum would always bargain hunt, for instance we always had second hand bikes, second hand beds (though they were always barely-used guest beds that people wanted rid of for extra space) and we went to car boot sales regularly.

I get the same thrill from bargains as she did, so this site is an absolute dream for me! I NEVER buy DVDs or albums until they're reduced by at least 50% unless I REALLY can't wait.

I can never understand people who have the time to shop around but don't, how can you just go into a shop and buy the first one of something that you see?! I only do that in charity shops!
Till spits. You have to spend £40 to get a fiver off next week's shopping.

I've just read that correctly for the first time, I always read it as till splits and wondered what on earth people were on about! :rotfl:

  • Ok so my planned shopping trip just got better!

Yesterday OH got some money off vouchers through from CC. A £10 off WYS £30 being the highlight! But its for an old CC that I cant find, so I just phoned them up and they have linked that CC to our current one so I can use it no problems :j:j:j

So thats a £5 off WYS £40, followed by a £10 off WYS £30 followed by 'a few' SSM coupons :beer::beer:

I'm rather looking forward to tonight :D:cool::D:cool::D

Just got back from Mr T's
took 15 SSM vouchers with me all scanned ok, I used one per product but was quite pleased with my haul.
Found a brand new clipstrip of veg crisps to replace the old one, all still 1p. Only took 3 bags as trying to diet.
Also found they had restocked the 50p disney parachutes. only took one so loads left.

also many thanks for the OP for the tip on Options hotchoc indulgence sachets took 2x the discount off so 4 for only 40p.

Was overcharged on milk, countrylife I think its called 86p for 4 pints on shelf but went thro at £1. didnt want to raise my profile even more for a few pence but worth noting.

and got my 3 year old into the wombling, we between us collected 8 receipts this morning. Ive made it into a fun game for her and she can spot them better than me!
    Happy days
  • Dunno if it's been mentioned but always simply fits are £1.20 bogof so use two of the £1 off Ssm vouchers is 80p off shopping.
