I started looking at this thread and then realised its a year old - why did I not find it before

I am wondering around MSE trying to find the answer to two questions. 1stly are we due for another 25% wine sale and if so can anyone guess when - seems a long time since the last one ...

I've got a £5 till spit and I decided the only thing I can justify buying is wine but only if I can get a good JTD voucher. I was sure there was a JTD thread but I cant find that either ...

Mhoc, not sure of the details but on the current meal deal, there are some jtd's comparing to Asda. Have a search on meal deal or check out the wines on the current offer on my supermarket, to see which gives you the best return. HTH

what is wrong with some people? i picked up a few 25p comfort and offered my friend some. he wouldnt have them as he thinks its not right to use coupons :eek: and at 25p the comfort must be old stock:eek: i did explain that the comfort is new as is the coupons, but i may as well talk to the wall

*note to self must find different freinds*

I know what you mean. I have a lovely friend who is really good to me. I share all my bargains with her. She thinks all the 1p items are brilliant.

However, when I told her about putting receipt details into the price checker, she said 'Oh no, that's too much bother to do that'.

Didn't have the heart to tell her about wombling! :rotfl:

Can anyone remember the name of the cough medicine that was recommended on here a while ago?

I seem to remember the general consensus was that there is only one cough medicine worth taking and it had quite a medical sounding name (ie not like Butterfly Syrup) but I can't think what it was called.

    Thank you.

pholcodiene- i see you already have responses but i am too lazy to highlight your post and delete it :rotfl::rotfl:

    Best share my T's experience!

Picked up two of these. http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-4100.aspx SEL said £15. Charged £33 each, so £18 overcharge on each.

Went to CS. Double checked, everything fine, until Customer Assistant is approached by security staff. Customer Assistant told me she had to 'Check on something'. Saw her speaking to managers and security staff.

I was then approached by a manager who asked me to 'Step aside'. I was then told I have been refused DTD as I have been given too many DTD lately, and I am targeting products with OOD SEL's.

    Now my history

December - Overcharged on toasta bags. Refused DTD as I used SS tills.

January - Refused DTD on a kettle, called HO who sent gift voucher.

And that's it. Twice I've been overcharged previously, twice refused DTD.

Explained to manager I buy literally 100's of items per month, had 3 total overcharges.. Manager then told me myself and a few others are being 'Watched' by security. I told Manager to check CCTV as I never scanned item, wouldn't have any of it, said SEL was clearly OOD and I took advantage

Told I wasn't entitled to DTD, only full refund (return products). Argued but accepted refund and rang HO. Lady at HO appalled (apparently). Called store, called me back told me DTD would be waiting for me. Then called me back five minutes later telling me no DTD as I'd 'Accepted a refund'.

'Accepted'. Well not given a choice to take items at reduced price or would have done.

Not even offered apology.. Trouts ^^

Interesting. Shame you didn't record the conversation as its a clear breach of false advertising rules. DTD policy is clear, he failed to give it.

I think you need to email philip clarke. Go get the managers name first so you can make a personal complaint against him.

I really love the BS about the SEL being CLEARLY ood.......the dates are usually so tiny you need a magnifying glass to see them. What really makes me chortle though is how they accuse people of actively seeking out ood sel's to make money from them............well excuse me but each store has a bunch of people who are PAID to do this every day and seem to fail miserably in the task. If they actually did as they were paid then all SEL's would be in date and there would be nothing to claim. Such logic seems to go over the heads of tesco's dozy management though.

I wonder how many stores I'm watched in? :rotfl:

that then opens up a whole new can of (1p!) worms! Probably best not to encourage stuff like that

Although in principal i agree- the OP was treated horrendously and I hope a very fat giftcard will be on its way to them soon for the embarrassment. And a P45 for the manager!

Remind me to never, ever go wombling with my two children present.

'Nipped' to T's this afternoon to see what bargains I could find - just some 18p Illooms.

On the way out I saw a lonely looking receipt on the floor. Without thinking I scooped it up and stuffed it in my coat pocket. My children know I'm a mystery shopper so they started asking (loudly...) whether I'm being a secret agent (what they call mystery shopping :o). I started muttering under my breath for them to Shhh!, while they didn't take the hint and continued asking whether I have to report back that Tesco's don't keep their shop clean and tidy. :rotfl:

    Aaaaargh! :eek::rotfl:
