We went there years ago and bought all our booze in Tesco's.
Nearly didn't make it though....I'm not a good sailor so instead of doing Plymouth - Roscoff we drove from Devon to Dover so it was a short crossing to Calais.
We drove towards the City D'Europe and joined what OH thought was the queue on the slip road to the car park. What we'd actually joined was the queue for the Channel Tunnel back to England
Was very nearly the shortest ever trip to France....would have been about 15 minutes :rotfl:

you have all the friends you need right here, and we are likeminded:T

I don't tell my friends most of the things I get, in their eyes I think it devalues it a bit:( If they knew some of the things I've had free on DTD I bet they would think every present I ever gave them cost me nothing and that I am a cheapskate when the truth is I can't afford to pay for most of the things I have as money is tight and even if I could then I prefer the cash in my pocket than someone else's.

Tomorrow morning I am giving my friend a box of Temptations and a Cuddle Me wedding keyring ( it's her wedding day) total cost 12p but she won't know that!;) She will appreciate them more if she doesn't know the price!!!

Do you think a SA will accept this? wombled it and got a JTD voucher back.

    :eek:scaled.php?server=198&filename=photo2aua.jpg&res=medium

If you go to a SS till to use your JTD at a busy time you'll probably not be asked for the voucher.

Anyway, when you discover it on your drive the day after you did your shop what else would it look like? :D

Oh and it's your OH CC and they're at work (if you should be asked)

Just to go back to the story about Tesco makig up the rules as they go along (the guy who bought the vegetable oil & was banned).

I had a T.I.T. yesterday - 1st class honours and all! Found a lonely pack of Ben10 Bandz which came up at 2p to which she said "I don't think we can sell anything at 2p. The store I usually work in won't do it." She called CO manager over who pretty much laughed in her face and said if it's on the shelf it can be sold. Then she trouted me on the 36p Cars pencil cases saying they must be a misprice. I acted dumb so another CO supervisor was called. She asked if there were any more on the shelf and I said yes. Shame none of them were the 36p ones but she didn't ask that. Another anti-trouting. Funny thing is when she saw the price of the 18p Illooms she was mad keen to know more. Pfft

I put 50 various 1p items through a manned till at the weekend and the SA didn't bat an eyelid. In another store a few weeks ago I was told the girl would get the sack if she put 1p items through!!!! Kids don't lie as much as Tesco staff

Having a quiet day today. Didn't get any decent stuff yesterday bar the aforementioned trouting items plus some 25p Pumpkin LED Lights (store specific I'm sure). DS2 grumpy from teething and I have a sinus infection so everything tastes & smells funny. On the plus side, it's almost Spring here. I feel some gardening coming on :D

I'm sorry but why do you find this surprising? If tesco actually trained all the staff properly then they'd all sing from the same hymn sheet and tesco wouldn't be tesco anymore, it'd be just like asda or sainsburys with a glitch once in a blue moon.

People running around store after store kicking up a fuss with SA's all over the place and buying tons of crap they don't need just to get one over on staff really is an ill thought out idea (not saying you do, just a general comment based on what I've been reading here and on the FB site recently). All it does is antagonises staff who then complain higher up and slowly but surely all out nice perks will dry up.

    Just sayin............

I started looking at this thread and then realised its a year old - why did I not find it before

I am wondering around MSE trying to find the answer to two questions. 1stly are we due for another 25% wine sale and if so can anyone guess when - seems a long time since the last one ...

I've got a £5 till spit and I decided the only thing I can justify buying is wine but only if I can get a good JTD voucher. I was sure there was a JTD thread but I cant find that either ...

Afternoon all, no Ts runs for me until tonight, Thursday a good day for meat woopsies. I don't really want or need anything as I'll be away in Spain from Saturday for 10 days and have already stocked up for DS4.

3dogs my thouights are with you and your family, it's such a heartbreaking situation just now, I know from experience.

Who was asking about Calais? Tesco has closed in Cite Europe but I have bought drinks from Carre Four there, some good bargains to be had.

OMG is it 'printer play up day to day? My printer (SX425W) is telling me yellow ink low. I go to change it and the cartridge is lodged and stuck in there.:eek::eek::eek: I'm going to have to wait for one of my boys to sort it me thinks. I have bought 'compatible' inks before but found some of them useless.

Purdita was it you who buys cheap inks off ebay? I've had some from there, some good some bad. Who have you bought from please?

I've caught up on pages from yesterday and last night now must get the hoover out and show that I have done a little housework lol. Catch you all in 1/2 hr or so.

Yes it was me. I've got the same printer
I bought them from this seller....rexccs
I paid 6.99 delivered for 4 x black a couple of weeks ago
and about a tenner when I ordered a 4 x coloured a couple of months back.

I've had no probs at all *touches wood*
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.
