Tesco bans grocer from store for buying gallons of vegetable oil to power his delivery van claiming it is 'illegal'

    Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2101534/Tesco-bans-grocer-store-buying-gallons-vegetable-oil-power-delivery-van-claiming-illegal.html#ixzz1mXH9SdFw

Amusing article in online Daily Mail (well, someone's gotta read it!) about a man being banned by local Mr T for buying vegetable oil to fuel his delivery van. According to staff in this particular T's (Oxford I think) it is illegal to use their veg oil for fuel!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: (Sorry I am too much of a dinosaur to be able to post a link!! OO maybe I have managed the link!)

Thanks. I'm sure there's more to this story, but it does highlight for me a significant difference about a fair few T staff - some are very quick to form judgements (as we all can do from time to time) but what is astonishing is that they feel it is OK to voice them and act on them. I cannot ever imagine buyng 5 litres of oil (or any other item) in any other supermarket and have the SA make judgemental or defamatory remarks about my choice of purchases! In my job, if I passed rude comments to my customers even just the once, I would be hauled up in a disciplinary.

    Like the T spokesman's comment

Tesco spokesman David Nieberg said: 'Our stores are there to serve customers, not prevent them from shopping.
  • You have removed the cellophane from the microchip (if there is one) and the bit where the ink comes out of on the cartridge?

Some you don't remove it but there should be a tab that you pull.

Take out that bit of film and see what happens.

Film covering where ink comes out was removed, ink is running freely when I checked it which is why I thought it was the printer.

The long bit of plastic/film attached to the ink shuttle thingie seems to be supposed to be there. On one side there is a hole, I think it has come off somewhere in the printer but can't see where.

    Good morning peeps!

OK ... I'm confused (again) already (as you know it doesn't take much) :o.

I thought I was using the new skin but I can't see any "info" above posts only at the side???

New style forum has info all across the top of each post instead of all neatly at the left - and I still hate it! :o
  • Morning all.
I've just noticed that Asda have increased their easter eggs from £2 to £5 (or 3 for £10.. eek) They range from 313g to 365g and as far as i can see it's DM, Wispa, Twirl etc. T are still selling at £6 so buying one will only get you £1 JTD. Buying three from T will cost you £14 and you get £4 JTD. But that's still waaaay too expensive for us.
(Unless you find an OOD SEL for £3 as some people have reported.)

nikki well done to Mr N but you appear to have forgotten the most basic golden rule at work - only let him think he's the boss because we all know differently, don't we...........:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:(sorry chaps!;))

Very true, I let him be boss from 9-5 a few days a week when we're working but all the old tricks work;)Sow a little seed in his head and then he has to think about it for 1/2 hour and then thinks he's come up with a wonderful idea;):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Morning everyone, working for myself today but am available to check glitches should one come up;)Nice and bright here this morning but chilly. Hope everyones ok, but hugs to all who need them:) I can't even get the new style forum to work when I try to get it up, that's a shame:rotfl::rotfl:
