    Hello Piquant and friends

Mind if I join you? You seem to be a welcoming bunch!

I've been reading these forums for years but never had an account until now. I'm not technically a DFW, I thank my lucky stars I have no debts, rather I am more of a" want-to-stay-debt-free", as I have just become a single parent a few days ago. I'm forever boring my mum with tales of my latest bargain finds or coupon savings, etc. so it'd be nice to share them with people who would appreciate them a bit more! Alas, I have no funny animal stories to share, although my 4yo DD does come up with some corkers sometimes which might suffice instead :)

Good luck with the interview prep!

I've done really well this month, cleared loads of [STRIKE]crap[/STRIKE] quality items, including stuff that's been on for ages.

If you don't want to put it on now, you could always time it to end towards the end of the month when people start getting paid again.

Sorry for invading Piq, I'm always reading and cheering you on (and yours too PG) but I'm rubbish at posting at the moment. :o

Another one coming out of the kingdom of Lurk to cheer you on for Thursday, Piq. I am a real admirer of yours and have read all your diary and pop in every day.

I am strangely nervous and excited for you - is that sad? A complete stranger from t'internet yet I will be thinking of you on Thursday and rushing home from work to read how you have got on.

Your Captain, Colin and job centre stories have me in fits of laughter, and you so deserve to have a lucky break.

So.............another one with pom poms at the ready - oh, and I am a granny so not as fit and lithe as some of your friends on here but we old lasses can still strut our stuff for a while when the fancy takes us lol,

Hurrah! Welcome lurkers, relurkers and delurkers, all are welcome!

Mad as a box of frogs here, well, all except me of course....

I am touched at all this support, thank you. I will do my best for you on Thursday [Thursday, Gally, not tomorrow :rotfl:]

I would have replied earlier, except I had internet problems all day, pain in the proverbial...

The best laid plans....and so on....

Have hardly been able to access t'internet today, so much of what was planned didn't happen. Luckily, I already had the interview stuff all printed off from before. All I need to do now is come up with a couple of decent questions.

Working tomorrow, so won't catch up on the admin particularly. I did manage to do a search on buildings/contents quotes and found that the renewal quote I've got is coming in at the best price, looks like I'll be staying put this year.

Scuppered the NSD 5 in a row. Bought some celery hearts for 30p. I love cream of celery soup and, apparently, so does Colin. I'd left it to cool on the side confident that a vegetable soup would be safe from a carnivorous cat....not so. He spent ages cleaning soup off his whiskers. I daren't show my face back on the pets board, they take things very seriously over there. Someone might send the officials round to take Colin into care.

Did another chore that makes all other chores fade into insignificance. Everyone who doesn't have a horse step away from the thread now, you have been warned.....

I washed the Captains willy......bleugh

He enjoys it a little too much I'm afraid  Marigold's on girls!

Perhaps Colin has decided to join the rest of us in the healthy eating trials :rotfl:

Glad someone enjoyed the wash :rotfl:

  • I was going to enquire exactly how one goes about washing a horse's, er, "equinehood", but on second thoughts I think I can live without that particular piece of knowledge. At least cats can do that for themselves (I think?!).

I bet Colin would love a box of frogs to play with! My dad uses that expression all the time, usually to describe my DD! Tonight she spent half an hour sitting under a table in a darkened room arguing with her imaginary friend, bless her.

After a busy day including a very MSE trip to two supermarkets and almost an hour on the phone to Job Centre Plus, I'm so comfy on my bed that I'm not sure I can summon the energy to get up and turn the landing light off, very un- MSE of me, oops!

    yuck to washing captains bits..lol
  • I can really relate to the sampled soup. I made a chicken and veg pie last night, left it to cool. Later there were neat nibbles gone from the pastry and some of the chicken chunks and celery had been excavated! There had been no cats in the house when it came out the oven so I thought it was safe.

I find some cats like to taste everything. One of mine is partial to cheese and chive Pringles!

Good luck for tomorrow. I will be another one sending positive vibes through the ether.

Hope work goes well today Piq and that you manage to come up with those couple of questions needed for the interview. I always find that really tough, trying to think of something semi intelligent sounding to ask ! :D

Creeps in, one of our old horses wasnt keen on having this done so was a 2 woman operation, one holding it very tight to stop him retracting it and the other scrubbing it up and down (insert very dodgy movement). Sure there are others who do this too, no just me then :rotfl:thank goodness I now have a mare :D

Hi Piq, sorry not been around. After the pesky virus I now have had head cold / chest infection and now sinusitus for the last 2 weeks. I am sick to death of feeling ill! Just cant seem to shake it! Head is so stuffy I cant be bothered with the internet.

Good luck for interview tomorrow - I so hope this is the job for you.

I cant belive the cat ate veg soup - the cheeky monkey. Mind you one of my dogs eats toffee, chocolate, grapes - in fact anything I will eat she will so I will be joining you in reported pet owners lol. And, the chickens eat the dog food?? In fact they challenge the jack russell for his biscuits. I think perhaps my pets are just food confused :D

I had to lol at the washing of boy bits. One of the reasons I love mares - my old chap quite likes the hosepipe in summer washing him down and in winter so far I have been lucky he looks alright. rightly or wrongly we have had his back shoes taken off so hoping his feet might come right. He is still not 100% sound which is so annoying.

Dont work too hard today - and try not worry too much about tomorrow and get a good nights sleep. We are all behind you 200% for tomorrow. xx

I'm glad my OH prefers mares otherwise I'd have an inferiority complex or be subject to unfavourable comparisons...
