The admin is partially completed, the important stuff is done, but not the filing :o

The problem with a day of admin in the winter, is sitting around too long makes me very cold. I do genuinely have to stop to do some moving around to warm up. Then I find it difficult to to restart... Still I got quite a bit of housework done too.

Yesterday was a full on day at work, Christmas shoppers are now out in force. I did get one complement when a man in the queue insisted on being served by the posh totty :T That was me, in case you were wondering....

Another two NSDs under my belt, not today though, milk, yeast, eggs and baking powder were in the basket.

The house is very cold, and I'm trying to cut down on using the heating. The night before last I couldn't get warm at all in bed. Then I had a brainwave! The heated throw has made it's way upstairs :j Colin is in heaven :rotfl:It's doubling very nicely as a heated bedspread, keeping me cosy and warm in bed. The hot water bottle has been relegated to the cupboard.

Sunday as always was Captain day, the skies were ominously full of rain/snow so we stayed on the yard and rode in the school with four other horses. It gave him a chance to show off and he took it  He's now snug and warm in his stable for the night, comfortably full of carrots.

Not a lot else to report, as usual nothing back from any applied jobs. I'm supposing that my cv is looking odd now. There's not a lot else I can do this side of Christmas. I'll have to continue trying into the new year. To get full time employment will be my new year's resolution. I'm really not enjoying worrying each and every month about money, it's eating away at my peace of mind, keeping me awake at nights and generally making me unhappy. All it will take is one major catastrophe and I'll go under :(

I think I must be tired as I feel quite down generally, can't be bothered to cook dinner. I have had the nourishing meal of a glass of red wine and marmite on toast :o

I failed in admin stakes completely this weekend. Want to come do mine? I can pay!!! I will pay quite a lot actually to not do this.

Madam get the hot bottle in bed before you, take the damp of the sheets etc then take the throw to bed. Please remember breathing damp air is BAD FOR YOU and the house fabric. And other fabrics too.

You will get a job. If you need any evil eyes you know where I am. Apparently I can get to interview but not through one ...... But that bit is up to you IYKWIM.

    Hi Piq
Just sending good wishes, you do sound down. What really annoys me is encountering people who are truly carp at their jobs ... but they still have one. Deeply unfair.
One magic word for when you next feel cold and can't sleep: bedsocks. I know they sound really old-lady-ish, but they make a huge difference to me - as soon as my feet are warm and cosy, I feel better and find it easier to drift back to sleep.
I really feel for your financial situation - we have just survived NINE years of living hand to mouth, during which anything could have sunk us at any time. But, remarkably, it didn't - tho' it did come mighty close, and we have some truly wonderful friends (better support from friends than family, sadly!). Don't be afraid to ask for help if things get worse - you are obviously a fighter, and have integrity. Don't be too proud, friends are usually happy to help in any way they can.
Enough waffling. Sending good vibes your way ....
  • How are you feeling today Piq ?

If its any consolation I didnt get my Admin done last week either .Its such a boring job.

I second the bedsocks, infact I spotted some knitted boots in Primarche earlier today. Not the sexiest things in the world, but who cares if they keep you warm !!

Really hope you are feeling a tiny bit brighter x

Nine years? Oh cake how on earth did you not despair?

Bedsocks? That's almost funny, I've been wearing socks in bed for a while. All my socks seem to have holes in now, but I can't afford to buy new ones. I haven't had any new clothes for a long while! I'm paranoid about putting the heating on in case I can't pay for it later down the line.

I think it must be because it's Christmas or the New Year or something, but I seem to have accidentally spiraled down into a not very nice place.

I have no money, I want to work, but can't get a full time job. I'm only allowed to work 15.5 hours a week, no more or I'll lose whatever it is that JSA supplies and more importantly my mortgage insurance payments and council tax benefit. I could have more hours but the system says I can't. It's a strange thing that I'm not allowed to pay part of my way, it's an all or nothing benefit system we have here.

There is nothing back from any of the jobs I have applied for, perhaps it looks odd on my cv that I now do a part time minimum wage job, whereas I used to run a department, it must say loser to the employer. I can't see that it says anything else or surely someone would have at least given me an interview.

I am going to find the Captain a new home. I can't keep him any longer. I don't have enough money to feed myself anymore. I don't know how I'm going to get through this. I think my heart is going to break.

There's no need for any of you to respond there's nothing to say.

  • Oh Piq, how can we not respond. I want to wrap you in a huge big hug, wave a magic wand and make all this mess go away.

Can we look at it another way that the CV says to an employer " this person wants to work and will take any job they can minimum wage or not in order to continue to do so. This person is not too proud or have their head up their own backside to take any work offered ? " I wish I knew why the interviews weren't coming, I wish I could give these potential employers a huge boot up the bum .

Oh , I'm rubbish at this. Over to someone who is far more eloquent than I am please. This has made me so sad , I want to help but I don't know how. X
