Since I've discovered Groupon all my haircuts have been their deals, usually a cut & blowdry plus hair treatment for no more than £20.

    Bargain

  • I used to pay circa £30 for cut and blowdry and style (I only have my hair straightened when I have a haircut, my hair is too annoying to do it myself). I've had the same hairdresser since I was about 16 - she was a trainee then. As she rose through the ranks, so did her pricing lol, but I really trusted her and was scared to go anywhere else in case they did something scary.

Was talking about this with a mate from work a while back, who happens to be a qualified hairdresser. She told me that my attitude was crazy and if I wanted she'd do my hair for me, at her place for a tenner. And she'd stop and show me what she was up to every so often so my mind was at ease. So she did the wash/cut/blowdry/style for me, and the result was NO DIFFERENT from the £30 odd haircuts I'd been paying for. In my defence I was only getting my haircut once a year-ish because I found it expensive and used to use special occasions as an excuse, mostly because I had hair in awful condition as I wasn't looking after it.

Now, I resolve to have my hair cut regularly (every 4 months ish) and keep it in much better condition, but not actually pay more for it. Yay me!

Unfortunately for my friend, who was branching out into as she puts it "a normal job" as she didn't want to deal with the hassle of being self employed, she's had to be filling out tax returns again... :rotfl:

The woman that cuts my hair is semi-retired and i go to her home and pay £4, just a straightforward cut. There is a place though in our local town centre and once a week the trainees are there who cut hair for free, they're well supervised so i doubt they'd make a mess.

Depends where I go, small local salon charges £14 for a wash and cut, she always does a fab job.

Mobile costs about £25 for a cut and finish, she's great aswell!

You can pay 2 or 3 times that at some other salons.
