unfairly being interviewed for benefit fraud

  • I think its VERY important to find out exactly what the interview is about. I had a mix up a few years ago when I started getting DLA but this was while I was in hospital having major back surgery - My mum got a letter on my behalf stating my benefits would be stopped until interivew - when I went I could hardly walk or sit because I was in so much pain - luckily though I walked with medical documents and letter advising of further surgery. I just explained to be honest I had no time to deal with notifying them of increased income while having life changing surgery. They accepted I had a lot to deal with and genuine error and reinstanted my benefits.

I find it very strange that your getting these letters and they are not being specific about what the reason for the the interviews are? You need to ask them as soon as you go into the interview what's it about...

    google it?

But, as it's not true, google won't find anything to show that.

    1. All Government expenditure is declared and is in the public domain
    2. There is no evidence of these payments.

    They do not exist.

There is absolutely no such thing as a cash reward, of any amount, when reporting someone for benefit fraud.

Perhaps you could google it yourself and provide a link - either that or PM me with the details of the person or jobcentre who gave you this completely incorrect information

its not my point to prove. Dont shoot the messenger. If there is no infomation relating to it on the internet, it could of been false info i was told...or it may be that it is only complex and substancial fraud suspicions that these payments are being paid? OR more likely that if the general public do the background digging work and provide the evidence, say pictures on mobile phones, dates, times etc...thus saving the dwp valuable time and resorces, they could potentially be reimbursed for this persons time and cooperation? it would be in the dwps interests to keep that quiet as like someone said, they would just be constantly inundated with false claims.

    i dunno,
but surely no one really expects me to name and shame on THE INTERNET! to total strangers that i havnt got a clue what they are likely to do with that information, or why exactly they feel it is their right, over anyone else to find out why this person told me what they did, especially if it is true (paying bonuses under special circumstances) Having this brought to public knowledge would surely only go to undermine the dwp's intentions?

anyway, seeing as though my original post situation has more or less been settled, i suggest that someone opens a new thread about the new "conspiracy" that is "THE BENEFIT BONUS SCANAL" because i have pretty much exhausted my knowledge of it all. happy witch hunt

thanks for all the good advice i was given! :T

Of course she is. She makes a hoo ha over posting the details of a the benefit office (just the name of the office and not the officer) on the INTERNET *the horror!*. Of course, she is forgetting she could have PM'd it. Anyway, there is absolutely no 'bonus' offered for reporting a benefit cheat.

    OP
look on the bright side,if yr youngest is 4 you will soon be able to get a job and provide for them yourself, then you won't have to be explaining all facets of your life to the people who have kept your kids fed and clothed for the past years.

    Win Win
When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

Blimey there is some rubbish on here isn't there? Bonuses for folks reporting fraud, and not only that, the public supplying photographs and videos to the investigators!

There are no bonuses for reporting fraud - fact.

Most fraud these days is discovered through data matching exercises, so its not a case of the poor reporting the poor!
