unfairly being interviewed for benefit fraud

I doubt that such a 'bonus' exists

    It absolutely doesn't.

Even if such a bonus did exist, surely it'd only be paid upon successful conviction (or other official sanction, such as a caution or adpen) of the 'fraudster' in question. There is no way on God's green earth the DWP/Local Authority/HMRC would willingly dole out £50 bonuses here, there and everywhere for shopping someone who didn't do anything wrong in the first place.

Having 'sat in' on a few dozen IUCs, I can also confirm that the majority of tip-offs are made by anonymous informers (in some cases, probably people living in glass houses themselves!). Even when the accused knows in their heart who bubbled them, they rarely have access to proof of the accuser's identity. Which raises the question as to how the hell the authorities manage to pay these mythical bonuses to Mr or Mrs A. Nonymous :rotfl:

To me, the bread and butter of benefit fraud allegations - whether grounded in truth or not - seems to arise from the poor dobbing in fellow poor people...

  • Gotta agree that teh £50 payout regardless of prosecution has got to be false!.

jesus - you'd have all benefit fraudsters calling up left right and centre!

From your posts you have never had a proper relationship with the father of your children, so you cant be accused of having one now!

Having one child is a hope for the future even when he leaves you , another child is hope over reason when he abandoned you once and more fool you!!!

Another internet a*sehole bumping his gums.

    Wind your neck in.
  • The person who interviewed you at JCP must have been a bit daft. You have admitted benefit fraud right here. You have to declare any additional income whilst on IS. You are only allowed to have an additional £20 a week coming in before it affects your IS, and they take 65p off your LHA for every £1 that you have coming in. And yes money off the father of your child is income and should be treated as such unless it is part of a maintenence agreement.

Please do not take this personally, i'm just outlining the facts.

no no and no. The only thing i can really think of is that my childrens father recently started working away and obviously couldnt come over and give the financial support for the kids that i was used to by hand, so ocassionally puts money into my bank account for clothes etc. for them

oh, just remembered, there has been a few occasions that my childrens father has paid my rent for me, purely because i was getting really behind

i have never miss-led them, i told them at the last interview and many times before that he occasionally puts money into my bank for things like that or for the childrens sake. and as it is legal for him to do that i dont see how that could be a problem?

no never really had a proper maintenance arrangment because he works on a self employed basis so it really is just dribs and drabs when he is working. there has been really long periods of time when he wasnt working and couldnt afford to give me anything.

Would you mind saying which Job Centre or Benefit Centre told you that ?

I'm going to call them to check out what you say.

    If you wouldn't mind.

would u mind if i asked why?
Im not being rude its just you seem to want to know this from a professional point of view and in that case i wouldnt want to get anyone into trouble by naming names or job centre branches.

It may of been that it was an off the cuff comment, and that they didnt have peofessional right to share that imformation with me.

think u need to edit your "specialist areas"

err no i dont, you are quoting from the totally oldskool, out of date rulebook!
    that changed donkeys years ago!
i could recieve up to £1000 maintenance per WEEK without it affected my claim for income support, as long as i could prove it was just child maintenance.
The old rules wernt working because they were situations when single families were struggling to make ends meet on income support, whilst the father was practically a millionaire making thousands of £££ a month, butr not being able to give more than £20 per week towards their children because it would affect there benefit.

Can i just state that i personally dont recieve £1000 a week maintenance, £50 if im lucky, but that is all legal and above board and for u to say im commiting benefit fraud because of this is very strong...and completley false.

I'd like to know too cause I'm sure the Neighbours up the road are fiddling! I could also quite do with £50 :-)

You need to check your facts mate.
The rules regarding maintenance changed almost 2 years ago :rotfl:

    Well, no.

I'd be very grateful if you could disclose to us all the name of the Job Centre or Benefit Centre to which you spoke earlier.

Just so I find out more about what seems like a change in procedure/policy.

Please don't name individual staff members. Just the office name.

    If you wouldn't mind, thanks.
