Even so, driving without insurance is a no no and I hope the OP gets what is coming.

They will not care, it is an admin task for them, as long as the OP sends everything back promptly they do not care.He will have to send his licence off so they will notice it is only a provisional
You can get points on a provisional licence, it just means when the OP passes their test their insurance will be ridiculously high, and they will only have three "spare" points for the first two years between losing their licence again.
Sad but true.0 -

What?
If he gets 3 points now, he only has to get another 3 in the 1st 2 years after passing his test and they will end his licence
OP, you might want to answer this question...
Have you passed your driving test yet?0 -

So when he reaches 9 it will be cancelled? That doesn't seem right. Should IMO be 60

Totally wrong - you CAN get points on a provisional licence and they DO count under the New Drivers Act (assuming they don't expire first).Sgt_Pepper wrote: »Points before you pass don't count.

You can also get penalty points on your provisional licence before you pass your test. These points last for three years and will count under the Act. If you reach six points before you’ve taken your test, your provisional licence won’t be taken away. But if you get any more points within two years of passing your test, you will lose your licence.
The only circumstances this would apply in is if the OP got another three points before passing their test. In that case they would be allowed one chance (e.g. nine points) before losing their licence. So when he reaches 9 it will be cancelled? That doesn't seem right. Should IMO be 60 -
According to an earlier post his/her visa extension is due this month and it asks for any convictions including motoring offences.
I hope they realise the no insurance and no licence issues.0
