You say you don't dislike android, they don't have to do anything, it does not affect you, so don't worry about it and don't feel the need to harbour on about it.
Windows mobile is in its 7th generation now, originally it was a geek OS or have you conveniently forgotten that?
At our work we use iOS and android handsets for pre built applications, it is nothing to do with cost .
Perhaps you maybe worried that iOS is a victim of it's own success just as that is what took Nokia down, they were the 1st to introduce multifeature/smartphones and as the others caught up, Nokia got left behind, there was no choice but to jump into bed with window phones.
But as said, it won't affect you, so stop worrying about it, nobody is going to thank you for it :o

The OP asked a question about the Android phone and I have answered with the reason for why fraud is more common on Android phones than others.

It seem you are unable to read any bad things about the Android phones so you have tried to make the post longer going on about how I dont like Android and off topic in the hope of others will not read the negative about the OS you like.

You dont have to own the device for personal use. You need the knowledge and accesse to phones to be able to response.

Why are you posting the links about iphone and others. If you dont own the device dont worry about other os.

*EDIT* Just to keep things relevant, I'll admit Apple *do* have a system to limit the amount of malware you can get, but it comes with a cost; Everything has to go through iTunes.

However, as I mention above, that system would be unworkable if say, a programming house wanted to keep it's patented software secret (you can't look at my code! ;)), or if you wanted to quickly supply software to multiple clients 'machines for example.

iOS is just as susceptible to malware as any modern OS, because code is code; It just happens less because Apple have a system where they have to give the okay to everything before it can be distributed.

    :)
No apps dont go through the itune. You dont even need a itune to install apps. This can be done direct from the phones. It is called App Store. iTune is mainly used for music etc.

Have you used the iphone at all?

Others are also going the Apple way becasue it is safer. Microsoft have an App Store for Windows Phone and working on App Store for PC/laptop, search for Windows 8. Apple have a App Store for its descktop/laptop range. The blackberry have a App store for its range of phones. All of them check the software before release. The desktop OS (windows and Mac OS) are already moving towards app store system.

The Android is the only mobile OS which do not check the software for virus, its policy is to action after the event when number of users have complain.
Wait and see within a year Google will change the policy and start checking the software before release. This is the only way to keep customers and also get into the business market.

The OP asked about his stupidity this is what he put "Hi, while using my phone I had a pop up on android battery saver and it looked interested and revews was good so I clicked on it to install it." I already explained he clicked on a link, as another poster had highlighted, he could as well have done the same using a windows program on his PC, I can read plenty and fine, your posts are most often anti android and how great iOS is, the OP would have been just as idiotic clicking on a link anywhere, are jailbroken iphones not as vulnerable?

I have already posted that I own an ipod touch or have you forgotten that? I don't purchase handsets on contract I simply buy them outright, my main desire for android or my main gripe against iOS is that I like on screen widgets and an FM radio, yes I have tunein radio loaded and I have a truly unlimited data allowance, I also like a 12 key keyboard, my xperia ray offers all I need , if I change in the near future , it will be for a SE Nypon due to the enhanced camera spec which nears my previous Satio

Here is a pic of my iOS ipod touch, which didn't inspire me to get an iphone

You need to be careful with Android phones because it is open source.

A complete non sequitur to start with, the open source nature of Android is irrelevant.
Fake applications have existed on both Apple and Android 'marketplaces', Apple are certainly more proactive but it hasn't stop the fakes appearing.

Thats the point. The OP is not stupid. Most mobile phone users do not have enough knowledge to know what to install and what not to install. The Android phones should be protected from these type of apps. Also many children and many partners who do not have know how also use phones, do you expect them to understand all that. The phone should not have an option to install a software which trick people into giving money, dont care whoever have made the OS. Also I do not expect users from yound to old people to monitor the apps for Google while many of them are lossing money in the process. The Android is the newest OS and still have that hold is just shocking!

If other phones such as Nokia, Windows phone, blackberry, iphones can find a way to stop these type of software being install than Android phones should be able to. Most users will perfer that.

The OP is 100% not stupid - just the normal phone user like 1000's of them.
You may have the time and knowledge to understand the working of phones most dont.

Please send me a link showing people have tricked into installing apps and being charged via text message. We are not talking about harmless fake apps.

That's a big if, and simply not true. You are right though Google may have to change their policy on the marketplace.

We will have to agree to differ on that, did you see the link that he clicked? as mentioned in an earlier post, the same link was on my lottery results app, it looks like an advert, there is no need to click on it, most people would not , so why did he act foolish enough to do so? There was nothing wrong with his battery performance, the same advert dodgy link could appear on his iphone or any other platform, how many times have we gone on a site and the pop up suggests we have won an iphone or Audi A3? To my mind, I did not enter any competiton for such prize, so it is obvious it is a con, how many times have we gone on a site and just so happen to be the millionth visitor hence a prize? You know exactly what I am saying, the guy acted foolishly, hopefully his lesson will refrain him from opting into comittments without thought 1st.

ANY software downloaded has the potential to contain malware. This has been the case ever since dial-up internet with PC's when connections were hijacked and re-routed via premium rated numbers, all without the explicit permission of the owner, but he ended up paying the cost regardless, as it remains his responsibility to secure his connection and the costs that may incur.

I would venture that Apple's iOS had a good deal of safety attached because of the sandbox that protects users from apps directly accessing the handsets functionality - none of which Android benefits from. This doesn't make the OS worse IMHO, just that anyone using the handset needs to take greater care.
