If you really feel the need to reply, then something like.....

    To Capquest idiots,

Thank you for your recent letter.

I note that you have once again failed to provide any proof of the debt you allege, despite several written requests for you to do so.

For clarity, I do not and have never owed a debt to or had an account with XXXXXX.

As you are in breach of several OFT guidelines, this matter will now be submitted as a formal complaint to the OFT and trading standards.

Should I receive any further communications from you demanding payment, then additional reports will be made and further action regarding harassment considered.

In addition, should no satisfactory response be received from yourself within the initial 8 weeks from my original complaint, this matter will also be progressed to the Financial Ombudsman.

Okay so it seems we're going round in circles now, as i've received 'Another' letter from them.

    It Reads:

    Dear Mr (Name)

I write in response to your letter received 20 April 2012.

Your comments regarding the above reference account have been noted and CapQuest are committed to the resolution of your dispute in the most amicable way possible.

Within my previous letter dated 04 April 2012 I established CapQuest believed we have contacted you correctly due to a link between the original address of (Street Name and Town) and your current residence. In order to confirm if we have the correct individual I asked if (Street name and town) was a previous address which unfortunately your recent correspondence does not answer. A Copy of my letter dated 04 April 2012 is enclosed for your reference.

(Next paragraph - not even a separate sheet :/ )

Please confirm if (street name and town) is a previous address of yours. Upon receipt of your response a thorough investigation will be undertaken and we will report our findings at the earliest opportunity. Please be advised we will not be able to issue you the requested documentation until we have established if you are the correct individual.

The account will be held for 21 days to await your response upon which time will be returned to our collections department to re-establish contact with you.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused and should you wish to discuss this matter further please contact me on 0844 248 7651. All calls are recorded for training and equality purposes.

    Yours Sincerely

    Mr C Hawkes
    Quality Assurance Officer

Any advice on what to reply with now....it just seems i am going around in circles?

These @rseholes are the scum of the earth, I had similar, mistaken identity ( similar name and same date of birth) they just refused to believe me, the CRA's linked me to this woman and it was all a massive mess, got sorted in the end, but Capquest and the rest of their ilk really are the lowest of the low.

I've had the same letter, I went back to them to confirm I never lived at said address, have you looked on your credit reports to see if any incorrect information is on there ( names/date of birth/address links) as this is where Crapquest will be getting their information from x

They don't know if they have the right person, yet give out address information?

lol I didn't think of that, I like the way the Data Protection act doesn't apply!!!!!!!

Slightly different situation, but I complained to the Credit Services Association about Wescot Credit Services, turned out they had the same Chief Executive?? Hmmm....

Oh the joys of Crapquest! CC the OFT simply means send a copy of the letter to the Office of Fair Trading

Yes soon you will be getting a letter from Marcus Butterworth who will be handling your case, does anyone know if CapQuest still think Marcus works for them.

I recall a lovely half hour long chat trying to get in touch with Marcus to only be put through to the legal collections manager who said he wasn't in but didn't know when he would be back, he apparently worked full time hours Monday - Friday but his manager really didn't know when he would be back, or if he was off sick or on holiday. I explained that I would only speak to Marcus as he was handling my case and wanted his direct line number and I would keep trying back for him.

After 30 minutes of being lied to confirming that he was last in the office last week to sign my letter I asked if Marcus was a real person or if he didn't exist...cue silence and me ripping his manager Mr Campbell to bits.

    Moral of the story

CapQuest like all their ilk are liars and bullies who will do anything to extort cash out of you, unless you see something written in stone from them do NOT believe it!
