Items i will be going to Aldi for in the future

Options
Hi All

Following price increases on alot of value and own branded in tesco ive started to divide my shopping and go elsewhere for some bits (something I should have done before now I think!).

I was very pleased on loooking round Aldi to see some items i get regularly are alot cheaper although some stuff is just the same price.

Items i will be gettting from there from now on include

Coke 2L - 39p (now 60p for tesco own brand)
Pizzas - £1 Can get them for a £1 at tesco but aldi have plain, pepperoni and vegetable whereas tesco just have plain and pepperoni. Also Aldi do a 3 pack of plain for £2.79.
Balsamic vinegar - 99p (in tescos £1.79 for a smaller bottle)
Tomatoe Passata - 29p ( in tescos 48p at the minute)
Crisps 24 pack - £1.99 (in tescos so expensive it makes me short of breath to think about it  )

Anyone have anything they go to Aldi (or Lidl) especially to get if so what is it and how much do you save?

  • Aldi sell 2l of Coke for 39p! Is that a special offer?

    It's only a game

  • No their own brand coke is just 39p its nice too - even if your family are brand name or nothing its worth a go at 39p to see if they like it (try a blind taste test ! )
  • I go to Ald* for super six, free range whole chicken and eggs, passata, cereals, jam, peanut butter, breaded fish from freezer, wine, washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, Oatie biscuits (h*bn*bs) in disguise.
What else I need I go to the £ shop, B and M, H and B. Use mysupermarket.com to compare prices to get the rest of the shopping from As*a or Sainsbos only buying offers, basics or whatever is cheapest.

    Love love love Ald*.

I go to Aldi for tea for my hubby.
    I don't like tea, I like gin.

Love the Aldi ads, especially that one.

Aldi gravy granules are good, some nice cooked meats and continental cheeses and some of the Super 6.
Mushy peas are cheap at 17p per tin.
Custard creams and ginger biscuits are also cheap.

  • I get my weekly shop in aldi :) i can get a whole trolley full of stuff for around £50 (although i only spend around £25 normally) and that same trolley in asda or tesco used to cost me 2-3 times the amount  i'm officially an aldi convert (we haven't got a local lidl or i'd go there too!)

I find the best offers are, the diet coke, alcohol, crisps, fruit, bread, soap powders, their juice (dh will only buy the one not from concentrate so quite expensive in tesco & asda now) and i think it's around 80 or 90p in aldi

Just waiting for Aldi to open their new store in the neighbouring town. Then will be there once a month & local Lidl otherwise. Roll on March :D

We go to tesco, sainsbury's for most of the shopping and then aldi and lidl(maybe once a month and due to the location) for stuff we like from there eg the pork loins from lidl.

I use Aldi for some things, party food is good value, crisps, biscuits, cooked meat, ice cream, cheese etc, etc, All very good and tasty and much cheaper than the main big supermarkets. Only trouble is we don't have a store very close so we tend to drop in every few weeks.
