My 13 year old thoroughly enjoys doing this with slugs...is often to be seen after dark in the garden with the table salt!

Hate slugs but also hate killing them with salt. Friend of mine cuts them in half with scissors. Barbaric or what! I guess I'm just a wimp.

    exellent Judi

    some there I didnt know

Ive killed a whole tree with salt!!

it was blocking our light and the neighbour wouldnt let us cut it down, horrible sycamore thing it was

so I bought those huge bags for the snow, and poured them round the base when it was raining

it slowed it down dramatically that year and by the next year it was a gonner :)

    Very Interesting
I have a VERY large unusual oak tree in my back garden that has a preservation order on it.
    I wonder would it work?
The tree creates shade in about half of the garden most of the day.
I would love to get rid of it.
Must discuss this with other hlaf when he gets home.
