Clean a mucky old griddle pan with salt. You know when it gets all bits of grease & stuck on food on it?
Simply pour a thick layer of salt over the pan & "cook" it on the hob. The salt will absorb all the grease & gunk. It goes a nasty brown/grey colour. Let it cool down, chuck out the salt & give the pan a quick wash. Good as new0 -
will that work with a frying pan? my granddads is horrid.0
-
I don't suppose it will do any harm to try it - I can't see what can go wrong other than you're left with a still gunky frying pan? Is it non-stick? I suppose you would have to be careful not to scratch the non-stick coating with the salt. Depends how much he values the pan - if it's knackered anyway, what have you got to lose?0
-
thanks lucie. its pre non stick, so nothing to lose. ;D0
