    i use usual salt, cheap stuff in a bag.

    You can bath in salt water. It's very good for your "bits"! :o

    bits? thought only us called them bits. ;D they do say salt baths help after having a baby.

    It also helps with other things like thrush etc.

    I think I had two salt baths a day after having my baby!

    Clean a mucky old griddle pan with salt. You know when it gets all bits of grease & stuck on food on it?
    Simply pour a thick layer of salt over the pan & "cook" it on the hob. The salt will absorb all the grease & gunk. It goes a nasty brown/grey colour. Let it cool down, chuck out the salt & give the pan a quick wash. Good as new

    I don't suppose it will do any harm to try it - I can't see what can go wrong other than you're left with a still gunky frying pan? Is it non-stick? I suppose you would have to be careful not to scratch the non-stick coating with the salt. Depends how much he values the pan - if it's knackered anyway, what have you got to lose?
