Maybe I am unusual but I only go back to look at a house a second time if I am seriously considering it (ie it is one of 2 or 3 that I can see working for our family)

I would normally only second view if I was considering putting an offer in, or trying to decide between two properties.

However, that has been complicated by now buying with OH. I found somewhere ideal and dragged him back for a second viewing (in my head to really think through what we could do with the space and get an idea of the work needed).

He had decided he didn't like it, and walked around with a face like thunder, so no, we didn't put an offer on it. It was one of my most depressing viewings ever because I really liked it :(

My OH did the opposite and announced to the vendors on the first viewing "we are very interested and will defo be making an offer"

I was gobsmaked, we hadn't even discussed it and I had remained very quiet during the viewing because I couldn't decide if I loved it or loathed it...we did buy it and I am so glad

Think of it as shop browsing. You see something you like and decide to shop around before going back to the item, even then you think about it and either buy or leave. It really is no different to a 2nd viewing of a property. Will keep my fingers crossed for you OP. ;)

I've had 2nd even 3rd viewers and they still didn't buy - one lot made an offer we accepted - then the guy came back with his daughter to see it, his parting comment was "I'll see what she thinks now", bit strange being as he was buying it, him and his mrs. backed out then came back 3 times with various excuses again saying he was buying it again ... then backing out. I even had a surveyor on the doorstep of a property I wanted when he backed out of the deal. Turns out this charming family had offers in on about 4 totally different properties.
    Total plonkers.

I've only ever done two second viewings and both turned into offers. I don't want to get your hopes up as I don't think this is everybody's view. When I sold my last house I had a couple of second viewings, one where most of the family showed up and I got the impression daughter had to ask father's permission (he was possibly paying the deposit). Permission wasn't granted on that occasion! LOL

I put in an offer 2 hours after our second viewing!
    Fingers crossed, eh :)

Why would you 2nd view a property?

first viewing tends to be with your heart, second viewing tends to be with your head...or something like that.

I had the first viewing on my current place by myself and really liked what was on offer, second viewing was partly so my partner could see - I took this oppotunity (my second view) to scrutinise the place, look for things I may have missed first time...damp, cracks, anything dogey really.

To consider seriously if I would buy it.

When we were selling, we had four 2nd viewings. Three of those put in an offer. Good luck x
