No.
A week in a damage claim is nothing! As previously advised, 6 years is the maxumum time he had ie. 312 weeks (and he used only one)
(Fortunately for you, as you will "get away" with waiting longer than a week before telling your insurer you hit another car!)0 -
Im going to wait and see what the estimate he comes back with, i would hope that an insurance company can see that we exchanged details and he was happy that there was no damage then over a week later he has found a large crease on his bumper.
You would and he did inspect his car and said there was no cosmetic damage done, he only took my details because he said there might be damage which we cannot see.
Im not ignoring your advice just questioning it sorry, im just a bit worried about what's going to happen.0 -

You're going to end up in the !!!! he you're not careful.
Just give him your insurance details and let them sort it.0 -

You don't know what he is going to say about this incident, and what was said at the time along with his claim. Especially now you have "upset" him by not co-operating.
If you choose to go against your agreed policy conditions and keep your insurer out of the picture, then you leave yourself open to them being awkward if eventually they are involved!
Don't forget this incident is your fault!
If you leave it in the hands of your insurer, then you have nothing to worry about!0 -
This is all being handled wrongly. All you need to do legally is give him your name and address. He should pass this on to his insurers. His insurers will then write to you holding you responsible. In the mean time you must inform your insurers. When his insurers contact you, you do not respond directly to them but pass everything to your insurers. You will get a few more letters from his insurers threatening this and that......just ignore and pass to your insurers. You will need to keep on top of them.
At some point you will get a letter from Sue, Grabbit and Run, Solictors of Truth, who will claim they act for the person you ran into and that now he is incapacitated because of this and that he was a person who earn't 1.6 million a year, has 22 children to support etc etc. Don't do anything apart from refer it all to your insurers.
If the other party should happen to visit, just refer him to the Police. They are not stupid.0 -

This says it all IMO.0 -
An insurance company will see it that you had an accident, exchanged details, and now there's a minor claim for minor bumper damage. They won't bat an eyelid and you'll be in trouble re: NCB, likely with a fault accident on record.i would hope that an insurance company can see that we exchanged details and he was happy that there was no damage then over a week later he has found a large crease on his bumper.
The best thing would probably have been to settle for a few quid and be done with it, but you've upset him now so I think you're past this.0 -
Im sorry but when i got home i checked my car for bumps and scrapes and nothing,
Meaningless.
And in line with what pendulum said, if I had someone run into me and I later found some damage and got the reaction from the other party you have given I'd do everything I could to ensure I maximised the claim out of spite just to make your insurance renewal an absolute fortune.0 -
Do you admit that you were there and that you bumped into him? Is there evidence to support that admission? Thats it..case closed.
If i were him i would have submitted my claim sooner along with a whiplash claim.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
