No you haven't missed out. When I purchased online last year all I had were email confimations which I sent in with my application for my first cashback claim. The Link rejected this saying the emails weren't receipts:mad: After a few questions on here I was told to go down to a Link shop with my details and to get a receipt printed from the till. Sceptically, I went into a store and lo and behold they actually printed me my receipt which I sent back (by now outside the 28 days) and the cashback was paid 28 days later.
So, my advice is to take your details into your local Link store and get a till receipt printed which should then accompany both your airtime bills. Make sure you read the redemption terms very very carefully and then read them again before you send them off to make sure they are correct.0 -

May be a bit tricky as most stores have now disappeared off the high street (sold and rebranded to Three and o2) - I believe that they are web only now. As the cashback and sales are processed by different companies, it may be worth a call to the sales team online and see if they can send you a receipt?
The Link seem to be messing people about at the moment - I had just commented on another thread at the top of this board and then saw this.

My 6th month bill arrived today and I noticed I hadn't got a receipt ( what I had was the delivery note) . I phoned up the Link and they said they will post a receipt off to me. I was told to expect the receipt in the next 2-3 working days.
I then remembered I had received an email receipt ( it was an on-line purchase)
I have printed that off - does anyone know if this is acceptable to The Link?
Thanks.0 -
can anyone confirm if recorded deliveries are being signed-for at The Link's cashback address?0

Sent a claim by special delivery earlier this week and it was signed for.
Recorded signitures are hit and miss when it comes to large mail bags.0 -
I sent my final claim by recorded delivery on 26 January 2007 and have only just received a cheque (for the incorrect amount).
This is because even though I have proof they received my claim, and they accept and confirm this THEY managed to lose it. Of course they did not deem to tell me - rather make me wait.
My second claim did not result in a cheque within 28 days.
I have spent so long on the phone, sending in claims and writing letters I have now billed them an addition £40 for my time/costs which is very reasonable. I have sent a letter before action giving them 7 days.
All so easily avoidable.0 -
Just completed my cashbacks with The Link and all went extremely smoothly. All 3 cashbacks claims were paid well within the 28 days.
I purchased my N70 online from them and did get an invoice/receipt with the delivery of the phone so maybe it's an oversight that some have not received one, unless they have changed their proceedures.
Had many discussions with Royal Mail over recorded delivery before and they themselves will admit that a large percentage of mail does not get signed for. It's basically too time consuming or there isn't always somebody available to sign for the letter.
Getting sorting offices to enter delivery details into the database is also hit and miss, some do it well, others not so well, if at all.
Your mail may show as delivered online, but that does not mean that it has been signed for !0 -
I recently sent my receipt, along with bills from months 1 and 6. Having waited 28 days (as advised to do so on the contract), I called to find out where my cheque was. Conveniently enough they claim never to have received my letter. Now outside of the 30 day cashback period, they say there is nothing I can do to claim my £93 cashback.
Admittedly I didn't send this via recorded delivery. Retrospect is a wonderful thing! Has anyone out there experienced the same problem? What did you do? I don't really fancy just giving up on the money. They could 'lose' every piece of mail which isn't recorded and get away without paying any cash back.
Any advice on what to do?0 -
Send by recorded delivery next time or kiss it goodbye! Basic rule, now so more than ever.0
