    Morning everyone,

Snow really came down here last night but this morning it just looks like everything has been dusted with icing sugar, pretty but slippy.

Have missed the thread for a couple of days so need to catch up, how did it go Sunflower and how is baby Eliza, JG?

Last day at work today for half term. Really looking forward to a break and some time at home with the children. Need to rest for a bit to get over this awful cold, I am the same as you Adelight, so much snot!!:D

DD2's netball tournament and DS's rugby match have already been cancelled for the weekend so I feel I lie in coming on.

Hester you sound like you need a good rest, hope you have a lovely quiet half term.

Hugs to Lou, LW and Molly.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

    morning!

didn't get chance to post yesterday.

nmlc - (((hugs))) I hope your sister is soon on the road to recovery x x x x

Only a very light dusting of snow here - bit like a bit of icing sugar sprinkled around but it'll soon be gone as its quite wet here.

Off to work later and got to sleep in(not keen on that but couldn't get anyone to do it for me)

I've had a tidy round and mopped the kitchen floor - also changed the dogs bedding. WM is on.

DS's gf is here tonight so DH has got to cook tea - think it will be Aunt Bessie to the rescue:D toad in the holes on special offer. Havnt felt a lot like doing some proper cooking - still struggling to shift this horrible cold.

    Keep warm and safe everyone

    x x

    Morning All,
Woken up at rude o'clock by old dog being unwell_pale_ of course the minute I was out of bed the cats appeared wanting to be fed, cleared up after OD, let all dogs out, fed cats, changed birds water & put food out, checked pondfish, stuck a load in wm, put last few bits in dw & turned that on, made coffee & back in bed by 7am  am just starting to wake up now :)
No more snow for us but still plenty lying about and still verrry cold. Plans for today include putting a new fuse in iron as it died yesterday. Can't think why, certainly not from overuse in this house :rotfl::rotfl:making a DWP/Atos related phone call which will no doubt involve lots of hanging about on hold, and hunting the freezer for something for dinner once I've found out how many I'm feeding.
Hope anyone travelling for whatever reason has a safe journey & that everyone is keeping warm.
Hugs, spoons & get well vibes where needed x

Good Morning everyone, well no snow so far in north Kent (Medway area) but bitterly cold and a nasty wind blowing. The roads seem to have been gritted quite well around here although it was monday (after the weekend snow) when they were done.Barely above freezing at the moment and I'm hoping we don't get anymore. My eldest DD is going with her in-laws and OH to Torquay for a couple of days on Monday.
I have a man coming to measure up my bedroom for a new carpet later so I am quite excited about that .I'm just about to pop in to the Drs as apparently I need a referal to the OT about changing my bath to a walk-in shower (my late OH's lodge said they may help to fund it for me which is nice)I have to clamber in to the bath to shower and my joints aren't really very steady and my DD is worried in case I fall.I have had a couple of falls recently where my right leg just stopped working properly and I went down like a sack of spuds:) so fingers crossed .
History club this afternoon which I do enjoy we are working our way through the 1930s at the moment .
Well time to get a wriggle on .Site seems to be working a bit better today yesterday it was very slow and tempremental ( a bit like me on a cold day :):))
Have a good day everyone and spring will soon be here I have 6 flowers on one of my Christmas amyryliss at the moment and they look fantastic
    Cheers chums JackieO xxx

Morning all. Bit damp and chilly here but no snow. The snow on my house on the mainland has dislodged a few tiles on the roof - typical just as the sale is (crossed fingers) going through. The roofer has quoted £300. What with that and £300 for the search fees on the one I'm buying and nearly £500 for the survey I wonder how anyone manages to afford to move. Fortunately most of the other expenses will come out of the money left over from the sale, what there is of it! I reckon that by the time everything is totted up (stamp duty, Land Registry, EA's fees, solicitors fees, removal costs, etc. etc) this move is going to cost between £15,000 and £20,000.
Excuse me, I feel a little faint.
When I finish on here I will need a sit down and a cup of industrial strength coffee.

On a more mundane note today, is the day that I will see the back of this ironing plie for good. I know you've heard this before but today I really mean it. I really do. Hopefully........

Just off to the cash and carry for supplies for the drop-in. On Monday I am starting doing breafasts for them, every day between 7.00 and 8.00am. SO, lots of cereals, porridge oats, bread, marmalade, bacon and sausages. The idea of being up and out by 6.00am every morning is a bit appalling, I haven't done that since I retired 13 years ago but needs must.

Here it will be something chickeny tonight as I have 2 chicken breasts thawing.

Off now for a swift injection of caffeine.

    Good morning

We've had a bit of snow here this morning which I'm sure wasn't forecast. It's very cold and still a lot of snow on the gardens. The pavements weren't too bad yesterday except for a bit at the bottom of the hill right by the main road which was treacherous. I wore my yak-traks on the way down but took them off once I got to the High St. I didn't bother to put them on on the way back so ended up clinging to fences and lamp posts to get over the ice.

I don't need to go out today so am staying in and spring cleaning the spare room as we have visitors next weekend.

Beans on toast for lunch and rissotto for dinner. Am feeling a bit fed up as have just found out that my cholestrol is high so am trying to cut down on saturated fat.I'm not overweight. The leaflet the nurse gave me seems totally irrelevant -one of things it tells me to do is to try and work up to 20-30 minutes exercise a day.I already do at least twice that and do a 10-12 mile walk at least once a week-when it's not snowing!

Good morning everybody-I hope all the poorlies get better soon, and the snotties, and feel free to have a hug if you are down.
I'm very behind today,my DB rang for a chat just as I was drying my hair & getting ready to go out with the dog.1/2 hr later the doorbell went so he rang off,& it was my dog walking neighbour,so just shoved my coat on and went.My hair now looks like I've been dragged through a hedge cos I hadnt done anything with it
I shall have the potato & leek soup for lunch,Thai curry tonight.I need to make another loaf today, possibly a cake if I get time, but need to tackle the ironing as a matter of urgency:(.So instead of procrastinating I'd better leap into action :rotfl:
Monnagran & Islandmaid- poor things, hope your sunburn gets better soon ;):D( you made me laugh yesterday :))

H finally had his motorbike assessed after his bike accident in November (stupid Aviva were stalling, brokers then cancelled his claim......!!!!!! he's claiming off woman who knocked him off why it this so difficult). Well they want to write the bike off because they value it at £1800 and repairs cost £1500 which means we are out of pocket, again, because H paid £2500 for it. Bloke in showroom showed us his book and it was worth more than £1800 so not only has H been messed around since November about getting it repaired he's now lost a load of money. I can understand losing value over time but not that much in such a short space of time :mad:
Absolutely sod all benefit to having insurance other than to line their pockets

Naff all OS going on here, been food shopping, spent £42 so should last us the week. Not much snow here, just a light dusting but its still trying with showers of really fine flakes.

Sunflower - I hope everything is OK with you and it wasn't bad news the other day. If you can face updating us please do xxxx

Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.

((Hugs)) here if anyone would like one.

Bitsey don't know what to suggest-can you challenge the insurance company's figure?

Hope the weather improves for everybody.

    Have a good day.

Bitsey get the guy in the showroom to write it down, and send it to them.

Thirzah my OH got his down - he drinks that dropping yoghurty thing every day, gave up cream, lost a little bit of weight. I have no idea what did the job, but it definitely went down.

Dogs walked here, off to clean bathrooms.
