OS Daily Friday 10th February

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 10th February. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
We have more snow here, not sure if I'll be able to get up the hill, I'll have a bash at it, but I'm not risking life & limb.
It will be chaotic today at work, last day before half term plus snow plus we only have lessons this morning & a literary event on this afternoon.
Best get a wiggle on.
Stay safe & warm everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning Hester - and all to follow! Woke up feeling tired but with splitting headache so needed to get vertical fast! More snow here too. It came down thickly during the evening - luckily our friends decided to risk coming and we had a fantastic time although they didn't hang about after the meal was finished. They rang to let us know they were safely home - but described the journey as "interesting"! Sadly getting around will now be more difficult as there's plenty of ice packed under the fresh snow. I don't do driving when it's like this - but walking may be hazardous too! I can see I'm going to have no excuse for not getting on with all the household jobs!
Hope you all have a good day. Do wrap up warm and take care of yourselves!Resolution:

Morning all,
We have a tiny bit of snow
, The roads look clear but its laying on the grass etc, will take it easy going to work.
Last day of dd's placement, and she has a rotten cold tbh I am not supprised, some of the babies come in with all sorts of illnesses, conjuntivitus, a rash, colds coughs, nits, and worms she was bound to pick something up this week, last day for her though, and she will miss some of the little ones.
I finish early today and will then shoot back to see dad for an hour before going back to collect dd who finishes later than me.
Meatballs for tea with pasta, then a night in front of the tv in the warm.
nmlc so sorry to hear about your sis, hope she makes a good recovery xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all. Thin layer of snow here, I gritted the drive (lovely slopey design grr) last night just hope the pavements are okay to walk on to work. Off to OH's new place tonight where it's much more snowy. The last not never melted and last night has just covered up all the footprints and tyre tracks.
I'm feeling like doodoo as per, sometimes I wonder how I could measure all the snot I expel in a day. I know it would be a lot. I feel like such a pleb as I have to blow my nose every ten minutes and it's so loud and... gooey
Well that's a love mental image for you all!
No OS today and not much this weekend. Considering putting the duvet in on a hot wash before work so it has the weekend to dry. Good idea??Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Good morning to all.
We had some snow overnight that has settled on that from last weekend and the remaining ice
I fell taking dd to the docs the other night, so we are staying put.
My mum is here to entertain the tots as the financial advisor is coming to tell me what he thinks I could do with the leftover money from OH life assurance. Am hoping it will set up a nice fund for if they ever want to go to uni, or help get on the property ladder. Seems odd thinking about that. My eldest is only just 3:D
Other than that, cooking, baking, bit of flylady and might declutter another cupboard. Always makes me feel better.
I have to photo a couple of items for eb@y and that's it!Bossymoo

Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Fresh snow fall here, just a covering on the gardens, paths and verges - main road doesn't look too bad, but side roads are covered too so will need to be careful. DH up and off to work at stupid early. Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket, beans/veg.
Will be heading out shortly to go to the bank. Was reasonably productive yesterday, got most of the housework done, still working my way through washing, drying and ironing, will keep going with this today. Changed our bed and re-made, will do the boys beds today too. Made some carrot soup yesterday for my lunches for today and tomorrow. Would like to get some cooking/baking done - hope to get that done either later this morning or this afternoon. Will be speaking to mum and dad shortly to see how my sister is and we're hoping to get to visit her possibly tonight or tomorrow - will have to see what's happening re other visitors/her children etc.
Take it steady everyone x
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Good morning all,
No snow in Norfolk (not near the coast anyway) so we are cold and cloudy.
I don't have to do the school run this morning, so am waiting for the kids to leave the house and then will shower and walk the mutts. I started blitzing the kitchen yesterday, kickboards and the like, so I'll finish that today, and I need to do both bathrooms.
We have liver and bacon casserole for tea - I'm not sure how to cook it, but it will be in the slow cooker.
Good luck with the FA Bossy, don't believe a word he tells you, smile and then look around the boards here and take more advice.
Last day Hester, must be a nice feeling. I'm actually looking forwards to having them home for a week. Although ED is off to London for two days and SS is off visiting an aunt for three.
Right, tea, then shower. Catch you all later.0
