RyanAir Flight Change - Problems HELP Please

Options
Hello there everyone,

My family and I are booked to go to (Reus) Barcelona on April 7th 2012 with RyanAir, returning on the 10th. When there we booked to stay for the nights of the 7th, 8th and 9th and then return. My booking with RA is separate from that of my Mother, Grandad and Auntie who booked as one, however our hotel booking is the same.

The plan was to depart Bristol airport at 7:00am and arrive there so we could have our full day there as the holiday is only a few days long, however RyanAir have changed our departure flight and put it ahead by 9 hours. This causes us to lose an entire day of our holiday.

They have offered a refund, however this refund is only for the departure flight, we're not sure the holiday is worth it anymore, since 1 day is more than a quarter of it. The problem being is if we decided to cancel, all we get back is our departure flight money. Not our return flight cost, or any of our hotel booking (and it's within their 8 week cancellation period now so we cant get a refund for it).

Where do I stand? I called RyanAir and got cut off after about 5 minutes and then called back to no answer and then a message saying they are closed even though their office hours on their site are until 7pm.

Please help! Its a lot of money to lose (given that holiday time and hotel bookings = money) :(.

Josh

Sorry about that, somehow missed it! Could a mod move this please by any chance? Or should I post it there instead?

There is no chance that Ryanair will pay for your hotel, they have no responsibility for other bookings that you have made. To be honest I think your best bet is just to go and make the best of it, you're losing a bit of your holiday but if you don't go i think the financial loss will be a lot more. Hopefully this will get moved so that the people who know what your entitlements are for a change of departure time (but it could be nothing if they have given you enough notice I'm afraid).

You're still going for 3 nights, do a cost comparison of going on easyJet outbound to Barcelona.

Is this not a case where the OP can opt for "re-routing" via another airline? The flight has been cancelled, hasn't it?

If the flight number is the same, then the flight time has just changed.

Almost same situation to me, I am flying in and out of REUS with Ryan air. My outbound flight has now changed by 12hrs! Luckily i booked a dynamic package so my travel agent sorted out the best deal for me but it still means alot of messing about :-(
I hope you manage to sort something out.
I'm now worried my outgoing flght will change times and or my inbound will change again... suppose you get what you pay for.
