I have tried, unsuccessfully, to make 3 posts to the forum of "that" website tonight. 2 were new threads, which obviously didn't make it through the vetting procress, and one was a post which was seemingly removed.

Is it fair that there's a website which seems to be devoted to bringing down the value of assets and simply blocks out anyone who dares to question their mentality?

Some of the arguments there are interesting and thought provoking, but most of it, in my opinion, is delusional, hypocritical and quite frankly desperate.

I find it a real concern that a website devoted to trying to devalue our biggest asset will only show one side of an argument. The hypocrisy element is highlighted by the number of usages of the term "VI spin" - the site is the epitomy, surely.

I also agree that the majority, in their nature, must have a vested interest.

Personally wouldn't worry about it - if it's a privately owned website, which it certainly is, the owners can publish or not publish whatever they wish. A bit like the press really! :rotfl:

As it's been going for 3, maybe 4yrs it really doesn't seem to have had much affect on the housing market so why get in a tizz?

I just wonder what they'll all do when there is a housing market crash - which one day there will be - so I've already started buying up domain names like housepriceboom.com!! :rotfl:

What does worry me about that site is when I see threads like

How can any one make a balanced decision based on info posted there when so biased towards a crash any bullish posts are deleted. And in the few cases where a bullish comment slips the net the poster is either ridiculed or called a troll.

As said by Doozergirl its more of a club where weirdo’s and spoilt brats whom think they should be entitled to what they want when they want it without having to really work for it like the millions of current homeowners have had to.

most hard working well paid people can not buy a suitable house in a suitable area, without borrowing to the hilt and living a life of no social activities just work/sleep/eat beans on toast 24/7 365 x 25 years???

the millions of current owners thats mentioned probably purchased at a quarter of todays prices, could they afford to buy there house at todays price? no i dont think so.


were not spoilt brats, most are sensible and will wait for a fair deal! i certainly dont want a house now.

All websites do it. I once posted on The Daily Mail website once the MMR scare was shown up to be the bad science it always was, criticising The Daily Mail for discouraging vaccination - something that is likely to end with several children going blind or even dying - and it was deleted.

Conversly, many so-called trolls have undertaken a campaign across other forums (including Wikipedia) attacking the HPC site on the basis of their own experiences with the moderation policy. This editor suggests that the reader go to the site and form their own opinion.

I wouldn't worry about it, there are plenty more sites devoted to continuing these stupid prices like the bbc and dailymail that far outweigh one site encouraging a crash.
