I cancelled mine this afternoon as it happens.

As soon as they started trying to upsell me I just interrupted them with "Sorry, I'd prefer not to engage in retentions activity. Please process my cancellation.".

I find that does the trick nicely.

Haven't you seen the Two Ronnies' "Four candles" sketch. A conversation (between two Englishmen) based round just this type of confusion.

An Englishman and a Scotsman, although I know wee Ronnie was putting on a generic English accent :rotfl:
  • I'm Scottish and find it a hell of a lot easier understanding Indian accents than a lot of English accents, and I work in a call centre speaking to English people all day
  • I just called to cancel mine!!! You're right not easy to understand these people is it?!!

Cancelled, I hope! Remind me not to take freebies again! 10 mins trying to sell me stuff when I said 'look I don't want it please cancel it' after every offer!

    Arghhhh

    Rant over
  • What an absolute joke... thanks to this thread i called the uk number so saved on the cost of the call.

but to even get through to someone was a 20 minute wait on hold....

the when i finally got through it took another 5 minutes to get sorted.

    all cancelled and finally sorted!

my advice, dont sign up at all, if you plan on cancelling its really not worth the hassle and they make it like that deliberately.

    good luck.
