Hi Guys
Having done a fair bit or reading about this in the past just thought I would ask advice in case anything has recently changed in the way to deal with 'Parking Charge' tickets from Parkshield (Private Car Parking Enforcement Agency)
Been visiting the other half in a northwest hospital for over a week, as she is disabled I have her badge in windscreen and upon arriving tonight, no disabled bays were available so in a rush I parked on some yellow hatching adjacent to the end disabled bay.
Following visiting I came back to find the good old yellow Parking Charge in the car. There are no charges for disabled parking in these spaces so I haven't 'not paid' as there are no fees applicable, just a slight contravention in terms of 'over the lines' if you will.
Am I right in assuming that the ignore all communications is still the way forward or have things changed recently?
Thanks in advance

Why on earth are you using a disabled bay each time and her Blue Badge? OK so the BB scheme doesn't even apply on private land but if you are not disabled yourself what are you doing there? Trying to get free parking? Unless you have a disability you are blocking a bay for a disabled person, surely you realise that?

Yeah I know, point is that tonight she was supposed to be being allowed home, that was until an endoscopy tomorrow was announced, hence the disabled bay (closet to the doors of hospital).
Thanks for the heads up though, will stick it out and see what happens next, tomorrow's visiting will see the car well away from the Stasi!

Fair answer, just ignore it, you might eventually get some bumf from a debt collection agency, ignore that too and you won't hear any more about it.0

Just reported them to Nominet for breaking their terms of use.

Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Hi
I am new to this website and urgently seeking some advice on behalf of my hubby.
We received before Xmas a invoice from this company relating to a car fine on private property. On the date in question my hubby was not driving, his car was a company car and anyone is entitled to drive it and obviously was. He has since left this company.
I replied to the first demand for pay because I understood that as he was not the driver they had no right to demand we pay the £80.00 fine. I have since received three more letters which I have ignored, the last one stating that if no payment is received they will take my husband to court.
I'm really worried, I chose to ignore the letters after advice but they sound so scary when they talk about court action and bailiffs - even though he was not the driver. :-( I am 6 months pregnant and really do not need this hassle. Can anyone give me some advice on what to do?
Thanks

Fliss,
Keep doing what you're doing. You have done NOTHING wrong (shouting intentional) and everything right by coming here for reassurance. Your baby is important, so please relax safe in the knowledge that they can't do a thing. On the plus side, their letters will be an effective substitute for baby wipes on mopping-up operations!
Taffy, I'm being thick here. How have they broken the rules?0 -
This page from their site is worth a post of its own. The bolding is mine.

No need to worry, it won't go to court. They are just trying to scare you into paying up when there is no need to pay them. Just keep ignoring, that's the best plan. Finally , it's not a FINE, it's an unenforceable invoice. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Fliss- Buy a lottery ticket for tomorrow's draw. Put it alongside Parkshield's latest piece of toilet paper. Then reflect that winning the jackpot MIGHT happen- getting taken to Court WON'T. The odds really are like that. Keep on ignoring, once they send the Court threats that's about the final frightener before they realise you are wise to them, cut their losses, and go away.0

Hi Everyone
Thanks ever so much for replying so fast! Just the reassurances I need. I get really worried seeing the 'Final Notice' 'County Court Action' Pasted on these letters, but I guess thats the effect of scare mongery they want.
I will ignore the recent letters and hopefully they will give up soon enough.
Thank you again! x0
