Why do you think they chipped?
I used to have acrylic nails and unlike some of my friends I never had problems with those, I also loved the fact that you put any art on them and it lasts. Only it is difficult to get lady that does them looking really naturally, thin so you don't know they are fake.
Also I have long nail beds and don't wear my nails long as I do lot of typing, so just special nail varnish would be ideal..
My nails are quite flexible so that may have played a part in it.
I have friends who i last ages on; and also know people who have the same issues as me.
I was fine with acrylics; and i had someone they could do them really well (i had naturals and painted them) but we moved away an i've not foun anywhere else and has concentrated on my own nails.
I'd get it done first to see what its like on you first before splurging. Check Groupon or the like - they always have Shellac/Gellish and the like on there.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
Really enjoying reading all the nail posts.
I have picks of my nails on flickr but can't link it. you can search LunaAurora on flickr to see them. My husband said it reminds him of Cadbury. Too bad the camera I used wasn't able to capture the true color. Just in case you're wondering, I used the latest bundle monster stamps. i want the cheeky nail stamps someone mentioned earlier but its sold out. which is actually good cause I shouldnt be spending money, really need to save
Luna I notice you have the SallyHansen HD , how did you find it, I bought 3 but they seem a nightmare to dry & smudge so easily.Booo!!!0 -
Thanks for posting that link Violetta.
They look lovely, I quite fancy a foil now. I have two crackles and hate them
They always look messy to me.0 -

Vary basic with my nails, either french or one plain colour....
My own nails, no fake ones...
Need some nail varnish, down to nothing at home really... Can't afford expensive ones either - any recommendations on decent brands that do not cost the earth?
Looked at some KOnan kits on Amazon today - some are really lovely....
But need some basic nail varnishes first.
Not into pinks or light/bright colours myself, do not like the pearl shine either.
Like matt and dark colours - any recommendations?
Thanks
The only high street brand nail polish that I like is Maybelline and I only own one of these. I tend to buy my lacquers in kits from QVC so they are more value IYKWIM.
Love your piccy. What is the Nails Inc colour? I've just painted my nails in a similar colour by $OPI called Mis Can't Be Wrong.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I had a quick look at this collection but like you I own RC and RP. I also used to have a Sally Hanson colour called Emerald City that I got in a swap. Can't remember if I gave it to my daughter or threw it away and I don't like the look of the yellow either.Oh no see what you lot have got me into? QVC are doing LD and I desperately want the Supermodel Nude and Lilac combination........:o
I own 3 bottles of Supermodel! It's probably my favourite LD colour. I do own the Leading Lilac one as well. It's ok - the thing about all his colours though is that they are very glossy.ScarlettOHara wrote: »You could always try and eBay the yellow. Most collections have a duffer though - if you are happy paying 25/3 rather than 25/4 then it's still a good deal. I love rainbow connection - its my favourite polish ever and brightens up anything.
As I mentioned above the LD colours are all glossy. I've bought collections before thinking that there's one colour I wouldn't wear (in my case it was I Love Juicy) but because of the glossiness they all look gorgeous. ILJ is one of my faves.
I love wearing RC as a top coat on my toes.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Even though I like the glossiness of LD's lacquers I find that sometimes they can apply quite thickly and then actually lift off my nails. Maybe it's something I'm doing when I prep my nails as it doesn't happen every time.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge.
