Nicepeach...I didn't know Aldi did nail varnish, will be calling in next time I pass our local store. One can never have too many reds. Thanks for all the tips.

I agree about the reds & theirs are really nice ranging from deep blood red to scarlet. Also tried a really nice plummy purple, looks lovely on. I know, I know, red is trashy & I've tried REALLY hard to kick the habit but I LOVE it & it makes me feel so glam! :o

In our store they are in the toiletries aisle with the make-up. They're boxed & wrapped in cellophane so don't hunt around looking for the bottles, you could easily mistake them for their lipsticks.

I find them really good. Tried their lipsticks & lip gloss too. I don't mind experimenting at those prices.

If anyone saw the breakfast news this morning the lady presenter's dress was the colour of the turquoise polish in A*ldi! :)

Really enjoying reading all the nail posts.

I have picks of my nails on flickr but can't link it. you can search LunaAurora on flickr to see them. My husband said it reminds him of Cadbury. Too bad the camera I used wasn't able to capture the true color. Just in case you're wondering, I used the latest bundle monster stamps. i want the cheeky nail stamps someone mentioned earlier but its sold out. which is actually good cause I shouldnt be spending money, really need to save :)

Looks good luna, the turquoise Sally Hansen is nice too.

    Hi everyone,

Has anyone tried some of these gel nail varnishes that are supposed to last 3 weeks?
They do them in salons and I think you have to soak them off, but if you bought the whole kit I wonder how difficult it would be to actually do them yourself? Doable?
Given that salon charges £20+ for them (and that is just hands, no toes!) and to buy the lot would be £100 (plus the lamp lasts long time), we would possibly like to go halves with my friend...

I love polished nails, but vanish does not last long and I don't have that much time to keep renewing it every couple of days!!

I've had them done in salon and i like it ok altho mine chipped within the week.

I can't see why you couldn't do it yourself - its simple enough as long as you have the correct lamp and polish. I guess you need a steady hand as clean ups would be a pain.

I might have them done again for holidays; but i like changing my polish too much to invest in the equipent.

Why do you think they chipped?
I used to have acrylic nails and unlike some of my friends I never had problems with those, I also loved the fact that you put any art on them and it lasts. Only it is difficult to get lady that does them looking really naturally, thin so you don't know they are fake.
Also I have long nail beds and don't wear my nails long as I do lot of typing, so just special nail varnish would be ideal..

I couldn't find Luna's nails either I'm afraid. Right, my nails are in a terrible mess. I've been gardening this morning with no gloves on  and got quite muddy. I've given my hands a good scrub with sugar and it's got rid of all of the mud from my skin but I think I'll need to do a little TLC on them tonight to get them back up to scratch. They are looking shockingly awful after I buffed them the other day. I think that I am just going to not bother buffing. I liked the tip of rubbing vaseline into them, who doesn't have a pot of vaseline knocking around somewhere! I have got a tiny little bottle of cuticle oil though so I'm going to be good and get that out again. It can live beside my chair at home. I have terrible ridges in my nails and googling seems to suggest that they are there because my nail beds are too dry. I'll agree with this as my job does dry my hands out terribly, the alcohol gel is constantly used.
I may paint my nails again this evening, I took the blue off last night and started putting on scarlet but it had run out so I flung it. Then I took off the polish and didn't have time to start again. Never mind. I still have time off until Friday night so I can still play!

Click on Contacts then People Search and type Luna's flickr name in. I think you need to be signed into flickr to be able to do this.
