  • HOLO ALERT!! There's some speciallita holos on ebay UK at the moment - £9.99 with free postage (I have a saved search with email alerts, hoping that one day it will show up on there at a time when I can afford to splurge :)) Not sure how that compares to buying from brasil and paying postage, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Does she chew? I used to chew mine terribly, my mother used to say I chewed up to my elbows and it was definitely not pretty! I tried all manner of stop and grow type things but what eventually worked was my mother bought me some cheap stick on nails so mine could grow underneath. Once they had she took off the fake ones and filed mine tidily.

I think for me having catchy bits that irritated me made it impossible to resist picking and chewing. Once that had gone and they already looked quite nice it was easy to not start again.

I think its why I still have problems avoiding chewing the cuticles, I just can't stand the little catchy bits and feel compelled to get rid of them.

As a nail tech, I'm not an advocate of biting nails or fiddling with cuticles. However, I'm also owner of nails and cuticles and it's easier said than done :o Try sorting out your cuticles with some nippers http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-PRO-NAIL-CLIPPER-CUTTER-TOE-MANICURE-SCISSORS-NAIL-ART-Cuticle-NIPPER-ARCYLIC-/310385448359?pt=UK_Health_Beauty_Nails_Manicure_Pedicure_CA&hash=item48446a15a7#ht_2310wt_1220 they're well worth having, your nails will be much tidier.

    YUCKY PICTURE ALERT...
Regarding biting nails, a bit of tough love... IF you or someone you know can't stop nibbling, click HERE.

I had a thought the other night (yes, careful!)

Its occurred to me that these lithos are probably almost exactly the same as the water transfers currently sold for nails and that when dry a topcoat of nail polish would seal them. It also occurs to me that these will probably be very very cheap to buy...

Obviously they will mostly be floral type things, but the idea of a set of willow pattern nails is currently filling me with joy. I'm asking around friends who are still in the industry to see if I can get hold of any old lithos to try :D

The other thing that i've seen and looks quite cool is those kids temporary tattos.
I can't fin any pics atm but she just applied abstract parts of th tatto over a white polish.

Why oh why does a trip into boots/superdrug cost me so much more these days???

Have had a rubbish couple of days with the polish. Marbling won't work (even tho DH has gone down the scientific route of why it should and shouldn't work. lol), stamping won't work. Rubbish polish remover that wont clean the stray bits off properly (any recommendations?). On the plus side I did get the magnetic to work.

Have a spare hour before work now so am going to play.

And naturally I had a load of those in floral designs which I only threw out recently because they'd been hanging round unused for years as leftovers from a summer fete at work. Aaarrggghhh! :)

    I was like that. Don't worry, it'll happen ;)

Lots of flocking powder here, £1.99 a tub:

I've learned this last few weeks that the addition of the word 'nail' sends basic craft items through the roof. A lot of the time the same products are found for half the price in card making stores. I'm currently trying to work out if translucent nail foil is the same as translucent card making foil.

I'd use them for tips... or polka dots... animal faces...
