Hope the above works, this is today's nails. Pink is Rimmel 60 seconds in ethereal, ring fingers are OPI I have a herring problem with a skull and love heart sticker. Sorry for the naff quality, was taken on iPad in poor light.I :heart2: saving money0 -
Well I've done my nails tonight and I don't like them. Humph. Haven't got time now to redo them now, so I'll have to deal with them until tomorrow night!
Grrrrrr hate having paint on my nails that I don't like!0 -

I managed to rip my little fingernail off right across the pink bit last week (by losing my grip on a mattress I was shifting while painting and decorating). Luckily it wasn't too far from the end of the nail bed, and it's grown sufficiently to have almost reached it now. As is usually the way with these things, within days I'd managed to break two more nails to about a milimetre long (one of these was done just by accidentally hitting it on a supermarket shopping trolley - is there no end to the hazards that are out there?!
), and so now I've filed them all down to the same length.
I've never bitten my nails (I have so many other bad habits that I suppose I just couldn't squeeze any more in), so I'm not used to seeing my nails this short. My theoretical response to the situation would be to paint them a nice nude colour and wait for them to grow back again. My actual response in practice was to alleviate the misery of it with a trip to Boots and the purchase of half a dozen new Models Own nail polishes. Oops. Are we sure there's a cure for this addiction?
My Konad kit turned up just after I broke my nails too. Typical. I'm now wearing Models Own 'Indian Ocean' on my nails, and a 'See if I care!' expression on my faceFreddie Starr Ate My Signature

Did mine tonight as well. OPI Meet & Jingle(which is my favourite red) and added some Kiss water decals for some bling
Also bought some more illamasqua in the Bank Hol weekend deal - Scarab and Phallic (:o) + they had a 10% May day discount so another £15 blown :eek:Noli nothis permittere te terere

I'm always now using a rimmel base coat, which does seem to help me with a) polishes staying longer, cept the edge, and b) making my nails feel stronger.
I can't stand having really long nails, and frequently my nails don't grow the same, I can always tell which don't (because the varnish remains at the edge, rather than new nail gap)
If I don't varnish them, they look "horrible" to me, and idk if that's a me thing, or if nails in general look manky. Can't say I go around other people asking to look at their unpainted nails.
I also can't seem to use solid colours, as much as I would like because they just have brush marks in them.
I mostly was a rimmel girl, liked that they dried quickly, and if you didn't do major stuff like grab/pull right after applying, they'd not mark/dent either. However have expanded my collection a bit (!) to other brands.
my blurry manky fingers! (couple of days old, so need to redo them, todays job!)

Accessorize 3D glitter: Dream (bargain reduced to 99p in New look, really like this one) Can't really see, but it has larger purple glitter bits in it.
Posh Polish, Beauty UK: 6 Elfstone (bought with another for 2 for a fiver) green, not silver
2True crystal: Shade 4
2True crystal: Shade 2 (both 1.99)
Thumb: I don't know what it is, but i suspect it was another Posh Polish base coat, with a Konad gold stamp on top. (all of my nails were this colour, with a stamp on it, but then I got my haul home, and was too impatient, so just did a multi colour selection)
Definitely preferring the glittery/shiny versions, but then I tend to mute it down with a matte top coat.
Actually surprised they look as good as they do, went swimming yesterday, and last time I did that (without a base/top coat) They just peeled off after an hour in the pool o.O0 -
I'm reading about people using Leighton Denny crystal file, saying what a difference it's made to their nails. Would someone please tell me why it's so different from using an emery board ? Surely the end result is the same , filed down nails ?0

Sound odd i know but it turns the nail to dust rather than filing it down.
This means you can see saw both directions and you end up with a perfectly smooth nail.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
