Have any of you lovely ladies seen Leighton Denny Supermauva and Leading Lilac side by side, I have Supermauva but I really, really, want a very greyed lilac polish, so difficult to describe, but a greyer version of the Neals Yard label. I have ordered Essie Merino Cool, but my pc monitor is so bad with the more subtle colours. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0

I once spent hours reading pages and pages of this thread, and left it feeling fairly smug (not to mention surprised!) at not having been tempted to wander off and buy any of the items mentioned to add them to my already massive stash of polish and nail art supplies. With my iron resolve already proven, I opened the thread again last night, confident that all my pennies were safe.
It was the post quoted above that finally tripped meThe two-plate Konad kit shown in a subsequent post is now winging it's weary way to me via an Amazon seller, plus the leopard plate and the plain French tip plate.
Justifying this (after the event, as usual), I reckon I should save a fortune in nail art stickers once I can stamp the designs instead (the fact that I don't buy a lot of nail art stickers anyway is irrelevant here :rotfl:), and being able to stamp French tips on will save on the costs of the masking tape that I do get through quite a lot of, and will also be a lot less fiddling and faffing. I should also save lots of time (and time is money :rotfl:) by stamping on my favourite leopard pattern instead of laboriously creating it with a dotting tool.
It also occurs to me that many of the polishes I already own would probably be Konad-suitable, and so if I could find a plate with an appropriate 'crazy paving' pattern, I could indulge my crackle glaze habit in loads more colours without having to buy any more actual crackle glazes for a bit. Of course, if it exists, I'd have to buy the Konad plate first...
On balance, I'm still not sure if I'm keeping company with Money Saving Experts on this thread, or Very Bad Influences, but I do know that I'm enjoying it :rotfl:Freddie Starr Ate My Signature

I am glad you have fallen off the wagon and taken to the dark side with the rest of us.
Over the past 24 hours I have fallen in love with orange. I would never have put that type of rubbish on my fingers before but I was feeling lazy and low so just plonked the nearest bottle onto my fingers and that was my mum's collection 2000 fruit salad. Well I was dead chuffed as it looks stunning and I would never have considered collection 2000 as they always looked a bit rank, but it was proper lovely.
However, tomorrow it is coming off and I am having lime green with a neon pink crackle on the top. Before I do it I need you lovely ladies tips on getting a good crackle as I always !!!!!! it up.0 -

As you can tell I have no tips at all! :rotfl:0 -
No I don't use a crystal file, should I? To be honest, I don't do anything with my nails apart from painting them every now and then. I'm going through a patch of 'self improvement' and just want to look after everything properly.Booo!!!0

Sorry Ida Notion, all my fault...
Big yes to crystal files aswell, really so much better than a normal emery board, and you dont have to replace them!0 -
Really peed off with my nails today. Just couldn't get them right. Used some water decals as well and my a-englands but still look pants. Took photo pre clean up.
Need to think of something else to do with them tomorrow or Tuesday as having them on all week will be depressing.Noli nothis permittere te terere

Personally I would recommend a crystal nail file (other's may not??) I got the Leighton Denny 1 from amazon it's £10.99 there , may be cheaper elsewhere, but it has made a big difference to my nails I think it seals them as it files & mine seem to flake & break so much less now, also has a lifetime guarantee.
I too recommend the Leighton Denny crystal file. My nails are definitely a lot stronger since using it. Have owned mine about 3 years now.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
