............I don't want to give any advice on what you should do as I'm not qualified to do that [aside - if only we had an employment law barrister on here who is qualified to give advice - oh, wait, we did, but the fools on here forced her to decide to leave - end aside],..........

Why on earth have you declared your pregnancy so early on?

    Why not?!

I declared mine as soon as I found out I was pregnant because of H&S issues (heavy lifting etc). And that was with both my first and 3rd/last pregnancys.

Or should I have kept my mouth shut and carried on doing work which could have harmed me and my babies?

OP, I'm sorry you are in this position and although I have no proper advice to give you, I wish you well with the pregnancy :)

You go girl!!! Good on you!! think of all the support everyone will give you and come on here and vent if you need...just be strong on the phone to her...you don't even have to speak to her face to face!! And when someone is acting like a bully think of them sitting there naked and it makes them less scary!! Although they might get more angry if ya start laughing as I have done on a couple of occassions!! ekkk XX

Because of the treatment she's now getting! Believe it or not not all managers/employers like having pregnant staff, who are likely to take more time off sick and then take 9-12 months or longer off work. They see it as being let down. It's not right, but it is human nature.

Bit different when you're involved in heavy lifting, isn't it? The OP doesn't mention any H&S reason to declare it early.

I had an office job - stressful but not dangerous - and I didn't tell my boss until I was 18 weeks gone (and just as well I did as someone in the open plan office had shingles) and I didn't inform them formally until 29 weeks, as legally required. I'd not recommend declaring until you have to for legal or H&S reasons.

Mind you, I had a healthy pregnancy and needed no time off or special treatment.
