FAO: CPW upgrade users
Options
For those of you who have upgradeded through CPW, I was wondring you you could tell us what kind of offers or deals they were able to offer? Of course, CPW O2 or Vodaphone is different from the network itself so they have their own billing etc, but what were they able to offer?

You could always phone them, find out what they offered you and post that back, might get more responses?0

Whatever you get offered make sure you get it in an email, I got told the offer would be sent immediately once agreeing to the upgrade, needless to say 3 weeks later I'm still waiting, and yes the offer I got told over the phone turned out different to what I actually got.
Was offered SE850 12 month contract, 250 mins 100 txt, 2 x £75 auto cashback, but the clincher for the deal was an auto initial cashback of £90 which made the contract equilevent of £10 pm, unfortunately for me the £90 bit has been conveniently "forgotten" and there are no records of it ever having been given.
This is still ongoing........yawn0 -

yes thats right, its is indeed very important to get a written letter or email detailing the offer as they can deny it later and you would have no proof.0 -
let us know by updating us on what the outcome was......cheers0

I phoned CPW O2 the other day to obtain my PAC code as my 12 month contract expires on 1st March.
They offered me £30 pm with 200 minutes and 100 texts plus £200 cashback by redemption and a new Nokia 6230i (worth £60 on ebay)
I aksed for more minutes and they then offered me £35 pm with 400 minutes and 100 texts with £340 cashback and the same Nokia phone.
Be warned though - I asked if i could call back next day to accept the deal and they said yes. But when i called back they said the max. cashback I would get was £300.
I made a fuss and spoke to a manager who agreed to the £340 cashback. They've also said it's automatically credited at month 5 and 11 - I don't intend to risk this though and will chase it up.
Assuming I sell the phone this makes this deal about £2 per month without the hassle of another cashback deal, PAC code etc - I'm very happy. I just hope I'll be saying this in 5 months time when i try to fight for my cashback!!0 -

My phone has a handy "reord" function. Never used it but will now consider when I call CPW for my upgrade. Check out the deals they have for new customers and see if they'll match. If not, transfer your number to a PAYG, take out a new contract (via Quidco) then port your number back from the PAYG (assuming you want to stay on same network - change networks, it's even easier!) Waiting for deals on the W880i which is currently 8 months half price online.0 -

Sounds like a very good deal to me. Only thing is the cashback - I mean did they put it all in writing as they can easily deny it later. I know someone earlier said that CPW denied it later. In fact its on this thread, check John-306's response.0 -

I realise this is quite an old thread, but can I ask - when people say "get it in writing" do you mean phone up once, discuss the offers, and then wait a few days for an email or letter to confirm it, before agreeing to the retention offer?
Or just ask for it in writing when you agree to the retention offer, and hope it turns up?..0 -
I agreed to the offer and then also asked them to put it in writing. My contract didn't start straight away, it start 3 weeks later and so I got it in writing first. They can put it in writing via email as well so if you want ask them to email you the offer details and then you can call up and let them know what u want to do.0
