Drunk in Vegas...

Hi
A friend of mine was in Vegas and had a bit too much to drink and passed out outside his hotel room. He was then taken to hospital and since arriving back in England has recieved a VERY large bill for a few thousand pounds.
Not chance of claiming it back right? I know travel insurance is a no go area.
Would you just put it down to experience and move on..??
This doesn't seem quite right to me... US hospitals normally insist on payment before treating or before discharge. Did they not ask for his insurance details or credit card at the time?:hello:0 -
they might struggle, he was out of it, and alone. they will always treat first in these circumstances. I bet the ambulance cost a fortune as well. must be easy money picking up drunks in NV0

Just say he you can't remember as you were drunk0 -
When I dealt with travel Ins claims (A few years ago now) - The US hospitals used to blood alcohol levels on any bloods taken for tourists as standard - Chances are if the bill is in thousands bloods were done.
The insurer will ask for the test result - again as standard. Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0 -
If that's all the report comes back with, that would count as proof either way for me.
So worth putting the claim in then.0 -
It may be possible that he was quite happy sleeping in the corridor and was taken against his will.
Are there referral fees involved in ambulances picking up drunks in Vegas?:(Mr Straw described whiplash as "not so much an injury, more a profitable invention of the human imagination—undiagnosable except by third-rate doctors in the pay of the claims management companies or personal injury lawyers"0 -
The op says friend was trashed. Being trashed is excluded..0

I am no doctor, but I suspect the symptoms of being drunk are not the same as having food poisoning.0

Where does it say that!!!!?
Well, you haven't managed to answer this yet.
So either highlight the post where the you have read "the OP stating that his friend gave him that information" or just admit you have made it up, and lets move on to answering the facts the op has actually stated, not just your opinion on something you imagined.0
