Mr Straw described whiplash as "not so much an injury, more a profitable invention of the human imagination—undiagnosable except by third-rate doctors in the pay of the claims management companies or personal injury lawyers"

As you've already stated, the policy doesn't cover his stupid behaviour.
Claiming it was for another reason would be fraud (and why should other policy holders pay higher premiums for him being a moron?)

    Hi, thanks for the replies

Just spoke to him and he said the bill mentions noting about being drunk and could easily be read as food poisoning.

Policy wording says being intoxicated through drink or drugs is excluded. Not really suprising

OK, so maybe he became seriously ill after drinking a moderate amount because of food poisoning. In which case the insurance should cover it.

I don't think this case is all black and white.

Where the hell are you getting food poisoning from?

"A friend of mine was in Vegas and had a bit too much to drink"

I.e. - the guy was a moron, got too drunk and got sent to hospital.
Why are you implying they should attempt a fraudulent insurance claim?

Slagging off insurance companies is one thing but openly suggesting fraud another.

So you know 100% for sure what he ate?
Without even being there, or seeing the hospital report?

No proof required, he's guilty because a bloke on the internet said so?

The OP has been given this information by his friend, so his posts are not an opinion but fact. Of course, the hospital will have noted any information that the friend gave them whilst he was under their care!

    Where does it say that!!!!?
  • look on the bright side, he was taken care of after being found unconsious. he didn't get married/tattoo'd/had compromising photos taken with a male gorilla.... Vegas can be a strange place, at least he's home safe and only his wallet has been reamed out.
