Hi Hamish. You were always my second favourite PermaBull :)

    LOL

And you were always my second favourite late night poster. ;)

That progression is (scratches head) about 75% down to knowledge I gained from HPC posters in 2004 - 2008.

    An interesting perspective.

I found (a very few) HPC posters interesting to debate inasmuch as it's one of the few places outside of dedicated economics boards where you can run across people willing to argue about some pretty obscure economic theories.

But HPC's biggest weakness is the overwhelming confirmation bias and instinct to view the world through bear tinted glasses. A position worsened by the repeated banning of anyone with a contrary view.

Most of those posters have now been banned or silenced.

    Indeed.

And that, above all else, is why HPC-ers continue to be so very wrong, and so very surprised when they finally realise it.
HPC (as an entity) is right about a lot - namely what is wrong with finance - and how everyone is going to have to pay for the mistakes of the people who wanted to take all the rewards of getting it right.

HPC was also fundamentally wrong about a lot of things. I would argue more than they were right about.

In no specific order, the big ones that come to mind are....
    • Causes of the crash
    • Timing of the crash
    • Duration of the crash
    • Depth of the crash
    • Effects of the crash
    • Aftermath of the crash

For a website founded a decade ago to discuss the imminent house price crash, those are some pretty major things to get completely and utterly wrong.:D

Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

What is the point in HPC banning everyone?
It doesn't silence anyone and in my case it made things worse for them.

I went on a mission to destroy them and did it.

It would be great if they opened the site up again and let us rip into them. Good move for the owners. Site traffic would be massive. At this rate the site will just die.

Timm, nice to see you over here. Amazing that CC are still getting 250k visitors a year when you can never find more than 10 people on the site at peak time! What's happened to the British Library Archive thing on CC - they seem to have dropped you?

be interesing to see what the stats are like for singing pig sibbers. I destroyed a few on there too in 2008 when a fair few were crying in their beers about their financial liquidation. A few on there were eating humble pie the minute they realised a few of the crashers on there had been spot on.

    Look Jimmy.
Lets get a few fact straight.

HPC and its members are no nice ok?

A few years back they hoped and schemed for a house price crash. The signs actually looked quite good and it was all set to happen.

If you were a member on that site you would have seen what I saw.
The absolute worst in human behaviour. People gloating and wishing bad times on normal families. Just because somebody owned a home. They were sheeple, mugs and deserved to lose everything to the HPC gang.

This attacking greedy landlords and freckless borrows is the near user friendlier HPC. In the old days they were vile scum wishing normal people doom and gloom not only fat cat landlords.

They have moved the goalposts but I've seen the true HPC people. Horrible.

With the credit crunch came shock and awe for most people.

HPC made use of this and hammered the newspaper comment sections trying to make mainstream homeowners believe their houses had dropped in value.

I was one of the first to fight back. Wasn't having it. They didn't like it. I'm still mentioned on their site daily. They copy my name in the comments sections. They come on here trying to have a pop at my lifestyle.

Do what you want idiots. From the start I told you house prices would not be allowed to drop.

I've got the house. You rent.

Enough said or do you need more evidence?

Are you talking to another forum in this post or me.

I only question what you say because you come across as a very vile human being yourself.

You are one and the same to me.

Stop playing on the internet, do some overtime and save a deposit.

    Winning combination.

No such thing as overtime with my current job as im on price work.

Already got the deposit but due to the large falls in house prices in the area i want to buy my deposit has now changed into a saving up to buy a house outright fund.

Ive landed lucky really because i wouldnt want a mortgage hanging over my head with the line of work im in, because its blatantly obvious to me what is coming.
