Hey guys, hope you are all well. I must start posting here again.

2012 is not going well for us....OH's dad had a heart attack on Friday :( He is stable, and they are doing some procedure tomorrow which should help him, and hopefully he'll be home by next weekend.

Not much OS going on, housework didn't get done at all, so will spend the week playing catch up! OH is getting lots of work which is great, my gran has said my grandad left me some money, not sure how much, but have decided will put it towards the wedding. (Should really use it to pay off debts, but we'll never get married at this rate!)

    Hope everyone is okay

    Hi everyone
Worked 6-2 today - NOT - didnt make it in until 9.45!!!!!:(:( Weather here terrible at 5.30am freezing fog and snowed in. I even parked the car on the main road of the estate and walked the rest of the way home when I finished work on Sat but it was impossible to get to the car, I had to dig it out later on - all the snow had drifted up to it. Anyway finally got to work and surprise surprise I wasnt the only one so I felt a bit better. So its a lot clearer now, the gritters have been out, what I cant understand is this snow was expected so why hadnt the gritters been out before or cant they grit until it actually snows??

Anyway got home OK and I hope nothing but rain comes between now and tomorrow as I start early tomorrow as well. Mind you it has cost me 3hrs work:( so will have to see if I can get some overtime in to compensate for it. Sorry rambling along here.

Hope everyone is keeping warm and positive

    Evening

Hope everyone is safe and warm.

Redruby no you are not the only ones with no snow, we didnt have any here (Hants), certainly not that I saw and DS was checking outside every 5 minutes. Just rain, lots of rain.

Not much OS today but DW is loaded and will go on when hot choc mugs loaded before bed. I had whoopsied hot X buns for lunch, we had beef done in SC with roast veg, HM crumble and ice cream for dinner. While oven was on I also made the weetabix brownies, kids laughed at me and made comments about all my recent OS meals, however they tucked in. Took my mum shopping this morning, she hadnt been out for a while and enjoyed herself. Not sure where she is going to keep everything she bought though! She did treat kids to a magazine each.

Now off to get organised for tomorrow.

    Thoughts to all.

Walked to church this morning:A. Had made leek and potato soup for lunch, but was asked by 2 friends if I fancied joining them for a pub lunch. Jacket spud with tuna mayo and a pint of cider  then G bought a round (I'd moved to halves, they were on pints), then I bought a round (ditto), then D bought a round then G bought a round but I skipped that one then we decided we ought to have supper there to soak up the alcohol (they had pints again, I had a pot of tea)! my share came to £22.60  leek and potato soup now in fridge for tomorrow and pocket money account £22.60 lighter! Very good for me to work out where my £££ go, and very good for me to see my pocket money diminish. I have just cancelled an online diet and a music club monthly subscriptions saving my pocket money £24.95 a month and have done it before either went out this month :T Now off to bed with a free library book :j

Only posting this late in the day to try to get us on to page 3. How stupid is that?

Just got back from The Drop-in. They were all glad to get into the warm and have a hot meal. New chap tonight living in a tent. Sent him back home with a full tummy,a blanket, a bag of food, toothbrush and paste and happier than when he came in. They are lovely people and not one of them has ever tried to rip us off. They are very hesitant about taking the groceries we offer them and will never take take anything if they think they can manage without it. We gave one boy a much warmer jacket and he insisted on leaving his old one behind because he didn't think it right to have two. Sorry to go on but they could teach today's greedy society a lot about ethical living. Anyway no-one will read this at this time of night so I can indulge.

No snow here - just rain, so no excitement at all.

I'm still living from the freezer so belly pork for lunch with loads of fresh veg and plum crumble for pud.

Off to bed now, hope you are all warm and comfortable.

Blimey DD.......I thought I'd had a few too many last night when I read your post from yesterday this morning!! I just could not remember posting it :o

I've just read this 1 and feel a bit the same - had to read it several times to get my head around it :D

That was an expensive lunch then! Enjoy the soup tomorrow.....leek/pot is 1 of my faves.

OS wise, I made some Polish Cake this morning and then prepared a 'bung it all in and hope for the best' for the slow cooker. I shall put in on when I go to work in the morning, so it will cook on low 8am - 5.30pm

Layer of sliced white cabbage, layer of sliced red onion and shallots, layer of thinly sliced swede, pepper. Add bacon chunks (cooking bacon Lidl 1kg £1.50) apple slices and then cabbage/onion/swede/pepper again + veg stock cube/ cider/ water.
    Fingers crossed it'll taste OK

(((xXx))) to all who need them

I'm reading monnagran:D;) I do agree, they sound like they could certainly teach others about humility! You are :A
Your lunch sounds YUMMY! Sleep nice.
