Morning all. Hardly any snow here, just a sprinkling, compared to everyone else on here but it's quite icy. Having a super lazy quiet morning sitting in bed having breakfast with the laptop as everyone else is out and I love to start a sunday like this.
Have a huge lot of ironing to do, need to get house cleaned before the weeks work begins and want to get a shopping list/meal plan written so I am more organised. Am making Spicy Carrot Soup for lunch and Stuffed Peppers and Rice for Dinner using up what's in my fridge before hopping tomorrow.
This afternoon am planning a lovely crisp walk with my OH in the local hills to blow away the cobwebs and will have to pick up milk on the way home.
Hoping to get a little sewing done this evening if I get time and read a bit more of my book.
Hugs all round

morning all.......nice reading about all the snow.......
Oh flew to london this morning with one of his farming orgs. I hope that he wont have too much trouble with the snow, he has meetings until tomorrow early after noon and then flies to Italy for more of the same , Tues night he flies to Berlin for a big Agricultural show until sun night , then he flies to Zurich for not much more then 24 hours and back to Tel Aviv on mon night/tues morn....rather him then me ....
It was fun trying to organise 9 days of "normal" clothes and warm ones at that as he lives in his rotten work clothes 99% of the time but we got there in the end....I wonder how he will cope with the cold.........
So I have a quiet few days here and am determined to do some major decluttering while he is away.....Now I have typed it then it means I will have to get on with it so good luck to me with that!
Will be eating leftovers today and then making some soup for the next few days........
Ds was home briefly at the weekend and dd1 has her first exam today and is busy studying but her bf was in the area yesterday so sent with him lots of biscuits and cakes to keep her going......
esmf.hugs for you and anyone else who needs them
Have a great Sunday everyone.......0 -
Bore Da everyone,
Well, we started some strategic planning at work yesterday in case the severe weather warnings were accurate and I wake up this morning to a dry, bright-ish day. Not a flake of snow, not a skid of ice and its not even that cold - well, not in front of my radiator it isn't. :rotfl:Oh well, at least the plans are there if the weather changes tonight, I'm on nights and never that keen on weekend nights this time of year, everyone else has battened down the hatches and I'm trundling out to work - oh dear that was a moan, moan, moan wasn't it. Thing is I actually quite like my job and once I'm actually in the car on the way there I'm usually singing along to the radio and ok.
Anyhoo - am parked in front of the tv at the mo with a bit of Scrapheap Challenge, crumpets and coffee - brill. Will make spag bol for tea, either have it at 16:00 or take it with me for later.
This has turned into a bit of a novel - sorry!!
Will pop in later if I can.

No snow here, just rain as usual!
Morning All
Late night last night with the Burns Supper, it seemed to go really well. We (the committee and helpers) were fed too and it was lovely - cooked by a local tea room for us. Going back up there at 11 to finish the clearing up.
Not sure what else is happening today, will catch up with the thread later. Hope you all enjoy your Sunday. Take care. XX0 -

Morning all,
Are we the only ones with no snow ??, it did start last night but quickly turned to rain, (Hilstep I am in West S too) we very rarely get snow (stamps foot)
Have stripped bed, but will not wash it today as its raining and cold so I can hang it out, and I have washing on the airers already.
Need to have a tidy through, and thats it for the day, dinner will be the nabs from yesterday.
Esmf, I did not realise things had got so bad for you, sending hugs xxx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all, snow started to melt last night but then froze so roads and paths are lethal. Managed to stay upright(just) walking the dog. Sun is out now so hope it all goes. We live on a hill and I'm dreading driving up tomorrow to go to work. I was going to do gammon in coke for dinner but will have to go up to local shop for coke so will only do that if all ice is gone. We have plenty of stuff in freezer so will just re-arrange menus.
esmf sorry you are having such a bad time(((((((hugs))))))))
Hope everyone keeps safe and warm.:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.
