Want to leave Virgin, aggressive retention team :-(

• Felt I had to sympathise with you (Big hugs)

I have had a very similar experience to you and it has left me really upset and with a cancellation date to look forward to!!!

I think maybe the retentions that we call from 150 are more sales or oriantated than they should be to do that job!

If you feel like complaining this is the CEOs E-mail address

neil.berkett@virginmedia.co.uk

if you really don't want to call back (understandable really) mail the CEOs office.

At the end of the day it is possable to live without VM-life will be a lot less stressful anyway!!!
Thanks to all posters for your never ending help and support

Ditto the above. I manage my sisters money as she is not able to do such things, but Virgin only have contact forms that can be denied - phone calls, letters. So now I've posted a special delivery letter £5.50! to register cancellation request which followed a phone call during which "Derek" confirmed it would be cancelled @13th February 2012. YET now she gets a bill for Jan/Feb & Feb/Mar no signs of cessation plus £10 late payment fee???

I cannot say how unfair this all is and should be reported to Trading Standards. The only way to call them when not from the home phone, (most will be at work - for me I call from my home where I have her online details which I can't access at her house) is those premium numbers, racking up a fortune. One call cost her £22 she tried to help me sort it out but didn't call the 150 number. :( The only other option is special delivery letters but at £5 a go not cheap. Even that is only limited proof.

Virgin is a technology company and as such should accept emails from customers!!!!!!! It is 2012, but of course no revenue would be gained would it?

Fingers crossed as I have a response from CEO stating my issue has been forwarded. Thanks to above for email contact address.x
• Put it in writing, get a signed for delivery and request a written response.

The cancellation team are paid to keep customers rather than facilitate their cancellation, so naturally they will put their most aggressive sales staff here.

If you want to do it by phone and don't want to be persuaded to remain, just write a script and keep to it.

I think thats the thing
when I cancelled i had little resistance
but I had a technical issue VM are unable to fix
so they had no argument to keep me
however folks simply want to cancel are fair game
