Come on, it's quite obvious that photo doesn't show a PPC employee looking into an appeal. The chap in the photo is quite clearly studying what has been said, why would a PPC employee waste time doing something like that when they could just press the "REJECT" button and save themselves the hassle of having to learn how to read.

Hi I wonder if anyone could advise on this. I've received a letter from a company called Debt Recovery Plus Ltd, which states that Parking Eye have instructed them to act on their behalf.

The original letter from Parking Eye was in January, should I just continue to ignore these letters?

    Hi Mik,

Yes, you should still ignore. This is all part of the scam and means nothing. Have a look at the stickies and you'll see the letters you've got, and the remaining letters you'll get before they give up.

    Hang on in there!
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

Haway man.......listen to what you're being told!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ignore ALL letters to do with Parkeing Eye [or any PPC] [unless it's a genuine court paper].

This is the middle stage in the campaign to scare you into paying up.

DR+ are debt collectors. They have as much legal right to demand money as you or I. All they can do is ask you to pay up. However, of course, they also just happen to mention nasty things that MIGHT happen, if you don't.

Letters from an "scrupulously challenged" solicitor are the last stage. But, even they can't actually do anything, for the same reason that a blackmailer can't take anyone who didn’t pay them to court.

The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Unless it's a company/hire/lease car, you must ALWAYS just ignore any fake PCN.

It is NOT a fine at all. Forget it unless you actually get real sealed Court papers (won't happen but have to let you know you have a 1 in 72,000 chance of a small claim being attempted! But most PPCs never bother - and they would lose a defended case).

You are not liable to pay and you must not 'appeal' as that's a pretence. There is no appealing a scam. This is a private company with an unsolicited invoice, dressed up to impersonate a parking ticket. It's NOTHING at all to spend any time worrying about!

Tick off the threatening letters Here.

    Barrister's opinion here.

If it's a company/hire/lease car then read this final link below as you need to hook the PPC in your direction with a letter and you need to tell the lease/company Fleet Manager that they may be about to receive scam letters which look like a parking ticket but it's a fake one (much more details here.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I've just back from Sunderland to find that I have been sent two letters for over staying my time by 46mins at Sunderland Hospital. I did pay for two hours but after talking to docs etc I overstayed. Now they want £60! I'm going to ignore these letters as I'm so angry at the moment. I don't mind paying the extra but £60, you've got to be joking! Let's see what happens, I'm ready for you Parking Spy!!!
