It would serve 4-6 here. I tend to use similar quantities and half a pot each would be loads for us, even if only with a pitta. We tend to have a ladle full each with lots of green veg/corn on the cob and a little bit of rice/quinoa/bread.0

I would use 1lb mince, couple large onions, feeling sad peppers, garlic, mushrooms, grated carot & red lentils, 2 tins tom, 2 tins kidney beans, beef oxo & maybe the end of a brown/ red sauce bottle washed out with hot water, herbs, black pepper & either died chilli or fresh chilli if I have some frozen:
Into the slow cooker
1st night: 3 adults with brown rice
2nd day: Good table spoon taken to work the next day to have with jacket pot for 1 or 2
2nd night for 3 adults, put a couple of handsful of dried pasta twists (or any shape)into the remainder with more water, cook till pasta is soft. Serve with salad.
Sometimes if we haven't been greedy there is a small portion of the above for 1 person for lunch at work-which is the 3rd day :eek::j0 -
Love chilli and cheese toasted sandwiches - don't knock em till you've tried em!0

This thread has been a bit eye opening, thanks for starting it Spirit. It seems we eat to much :rotfl:
Trow, that sounds horrid to me but I know DH would absolutely love it so I will be doing that next time we do chilli (now I know the tricks on how to pad it out
)

I have loads left from the chilli I made last night with that amount of meat so at least 6 portions.
We both had 2 burritos each (a bit greedy:D) and some nachos. I've put half of what was left in the fridge and will add a tin of tomatoes to it to make pasta sauce tomorrow. The other half that was left has been frozen and will make 2 portions of jacket potato filling next week.
I didn't bulk out the meat either, I cut up the stewing steak small and chucked it in the slow cooker with a jar of Loyd Grosman chilli ( I know I should make my own but it was a huge family sized jar I found in B&M) and a small carton of passata. It made loads! It was incredibly hot though which is probably why it ended up in B&M!0
