Opinions on how many this should feed

I have never been the best at portion control.

In your opinion how many adults should a chilli made with following feed please. 1lb steak mince, tin of Toms, small tin kidney beans, large tin baked beans.

It will be for 2 of us with pitta bread for dinner one night in the week.

How many would it feed in your house?

1lb of mince would serve four portions here.

Unless I make it into moussaka in which case I tend to have a case of the Jesus and the loaves... I don't know how I do it, but it tends to outgrow my pan while I'm chopping :o
  • Is 1lb bigger or smaller than 500g? Lol, sorry that should be a really obvious answer :/

1lb is 454g, so just under.

p.s. it's just what my mum does so I guess that's why I serve that size too :)

Oh and we'd have it with rice which is more filling that pitta breads?

I am concernedthat we are greedy:o
  • At least four generous portions, but I could probably make it into six by adding some chopped up veg and a handful of porridge oats.

It would be a main meal one night, then the leftovers would be used as a filling with jacket potatoes the next day for 1 person, possibly 2.

    Lol, thank you :)

That gives us 3 adult portions, one child portion and one baby portion. So four adult portions :)
