Lol. It depends what you have it with hun. We used to have it with rice but now have it with mash. If the kids eat it as well - we use the same amount of mince but I do more mash (cos it's cheaper lol)

But no I don't think you're greedy at all hun (or if you are, it would seem so are we :o:D )

  • It would be four or five portions here too. I tend to add a lot of veg to my mince so if I put my usual veg in it would probably do six portions.

Easily 4 people or 2 people and LO's.

I understand though as once upon a time it would have fed 2, especially as ex was a big meat eater, but now, well it would be much too much for one meal with rice.

edit: do you actually *eat* it all or is any left over on the plate and then thrown away?

    4 big portions, with rice
    6 proper portions, with rice.

I'd have also added in some grated carrots, for texture and taste... so it'd probably go further by default.

1lb of mince alone = four 4oz burgers.

If you're feeling a bit guilty that it's not going to feed more than the two of you, try separating out two small portions for "jacket potato toppings" to stretch it to another meal in the next 1-3 days.

    This. :money:

We got 5 generous portions (so in between proper and big) from our last batch made with a similar quantity of ingredients. I would have made it stretch to 6 but I wasn't the one serving it out. Served with brown rice, it was VERY filling.

ETA: This is adult portions, no kids here.
  • I would add in carrots, maybe another half tin of tomatoes and a handful of oats or lentils to make it stretch further.

As it is it would serve 4 here as I would serve it with something filling like rice or potatoes to make it go further. I agree with above why not save a small amount from each portion to go with a jacket potato for lunch :)

Not looking good is it. Off to break the news to Mr Spirit that we are greedy. Oh the shame.

Well done everyone else, it is eye opening when you hear what others do.
