  • Just as I thought!

    Cheers guys.
  • Please can someone help... I too like TeaNinja overstayed at Morrisons car park, and have received numerous letters from 'Euro Car Parks', and then 'Debt Recovery Plus'. I have taken great pleasure in ignoring these so far! Now however I have also received a letter from 'Wescot Credit Services Ltd', which although does not state anything re the parking 'offence' (as such!!), does state I must contact them urgently if I am the person named on the letter (which obviously I am). Please can anyone advise whether I should just continue to ignore these too? I am worried in case they send anyone to my address... please help!! Thanks.

Never heard of them - can you just collect the letters they send and when you feel OK about posting them (without identifying details) please put them in a reply on the top thread 'PPC letters, what to expect'? Here's their website (just another debt collector):

    http://www.wescot.co.uk/qanda.html

Anyway you have no reason to waste a phone call ringing up a debt collector, so keep on ignoring them! You are confusing debt collectors with bailiffs - NO-ONE will come knocking, there is no debt, you never signed a credit agreement for Euro Car Parks!

I have ignored an ECP fake ticket as well but they have changed their debt collectors that's all. Obviously too many people were ignoring 'Control Account'. Either way, ECP NEVER do Court, their top banana admitted as much in a national newspaper this year.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Interesting never heard of Wescot doing Parking Charges ..they may be fishing for some other debt ??
That said if they are not prepared to tell you what it is they think you owe and to whom ..then I'd ignore them !
  • Thanks very much for your responses Coupon-Mad and Sirdan... must say this website is fantastic in helping for all :-)

Coupon-Mad I will definitely keep and post all letters on this site at some point so to help others.
Sirdan - I'm pretty much 100% sure Wescot are not fishing for any other debt, as never really had any other such debt...

I will continue to ignore for now, although somewhere I read that it may be worthwhile writing back to Wescot stating that this is an unlawful debt, and any further correspondence will be deemed as harassment (etc)

Do we still think better to ignore completely though?? Thanks so much again.

Westcot are renowned for sending letters to anyone with a name anywhere near to the person they are looking for in the hope of hitting the right one. Never known them to try parking charges!
DRP usually only pass it between themselves or back to the PPC!

If the Westcot letter doesn't mention who they are seeking money for, and just asking you to contact them! They are phishing!
  • Hi,

I too ignored the letters from Euro Car Parks only to receive one from Wescot! The letter states 'Address Verication' We are attempting to contact ****** ******* and have been provided with this address. I am not sure what to do as it states if ignored they will presume the details are correct.

    Please help!

Just ignore. The charge isn't enforceable and you are under no obligation to 'help' them and their little business 'enterprise'.

Private = ignore, ignore, ignore some more.

Absolutely every other detail is completely irrelevant.

I hope someone can help other newbies though, as I think this means our letter-chain for Euro Car Parks is out of date:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803

Before anyone asks, NO, that does not mean that ECP have suddenly got all serious - it just means they have changed their debt collector which happens fairly often with these fake PCN scams. They like to ring the changes in the hope that certain letters trigger mugs to pay up.

Many thanks to anyone who can scan in or take pics of this latest letter-chain (Debt Recovery Plus followed by Westcot). If you can help, make sure you cover any ID details, if you want someone to check you have anonymised your letters enough then pm them to Crabman, the thread starter of the above 'sticky' (permanent info thread).

If you are too new to post links just break the links by removing the http:// before posting your reply on the top thread or when pming Crabman.

Do not post the links here - it's pointless as they will not be saved for posterity, as this is not a sticky.
