Don't you see that apathy is the reason why nothing is done ? The good old British public will just put up with the junk mail and come to places like this for advice, they set out exactly what is happening to them and how stressful all this is, they write ineffective appeals to companies that just turn them down automatically then threaten them with debt collectors even though there is no debt, they threaten people with actions that threaten their credit ratings and losing their vehicles etc.
But almost all them not do is complain to the right people, and that are the ones who employ these companies, the retailers and other providers who have parking facilities, these organisations should get complaints and lots of them together with photocopies of the various bits that accompany these demands, they are unenforceable invoices and the freedom bill will not change that! The fact is that parking companies will to resort to the small claims to claim money, their phoney appeals process won't change something that people have a right to do, and that is the small claims route and their right not to pay a penalty under contract law.
If people do nothing but ignore or complain on here nothing will change, the consumers en masse are the ones in control if enough complain companies and MPs and press will listen .Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

I suggest that you read my previous post again as there was no apathy from me ! I wrote many emails to both Norman and Asda, where I continually challenged their responses to me. Asda (via their Legal Director) eventually politely refused to respond to any further challenges from me.
With Norman....Mmmm, he has his own agenda and it was like hitting a ball against a brick....it just comes back to you.
I also said people (including you) were more than welcome to try and I hoped they have better luck than I did.
I hardly call this apathy by myself !:mad:0 -
Did I even mention you in my previous post ? All I said that the British public will put up with it for the most part. So asking people to complain to the right people is the best way, it's pointless contacting the parking companies, all we can do is advise what they should do on here and that is to ignore. But the only ones who can change things are the companies involved , putting thousands of complaints to these companies will make them think about what is happening in their various branches.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. I think you better read again what I posted, anyone reading that would assume I was talking about the British public in general , there was no reference to you at all, sorry that you don't see it , and I don't know how I can be anymore specific that it wasn't aimed at you, just a response to what you posted in regards to writing to the companies involved.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. No probs and thanks for clarifying. Good luck with any escalations for any PPC.0 -
There is some members of the British public which will do anything someone asks them to do if they are wearing a hi-viz jacket and pretend to someone official, just watch the Real Hustle.0

Stephen I read the posts and it never seemed to me Taffy was knocking you, it came across more like he was moaning that more people don't take the trouble to do what you did.
Yes the public by and large are like sheep. They grumble but do sod all other than that. If the French don't like something they are out there with civil disobedience till the Government backs down. I'm not advocating anarchy but a little more militancy would help to put a stop to some of the cr*p that gets foisted off on us in Britain.
Parking is just a good example. The biggest frustration is that the Government doesn't step in and put these crooks out of business. In any other context, if you demand money that you know you're not entitled to, by making threats, it's called making unwarranted demands with menaces- the legal term for blackmail.0 -
This weekend, I was shopping with my partner at the Marks and Spencer store in Lymington, Hampshire. We were issued with a £50 parking fine from the Euro Car Park attendant patrolling this store's car park. We had purchased a £1 ticket for the adjacent car park not realising this was in fact the incorrect type of ticket and we should have pressed the green button on another machine for a free ticket. This was a genuine mistake, and I feel, a most confusing method!!
When we approached the attendant to ask him why we had received the fine when we had purchased a ticket and were within the time limit that had been specified he pointed out our error. However, he did this in a rude, sarcastic, condescending and smug way. His behaviour was totally unacceptable and unnecessary when we had politely asked why we had been issued with the fine.
I have just emailed the M&S CEO, with a copy of the letter going to the store manager as well!0 -
Well the thing to do is to ignore the parking company completely , they will send you a series of letters demanding money, they will not take you to court or send the boys around. Now look up post 2 of this thread and complain to Mr Bolland of M&S about being harassed in their car park whilst shopping in their store.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors.
