Should I leave negative feedback to a non payer

I sold an item about 2 weeks ago, but the highest bidder didn't pay. After I sent him an email (7 days after the sale) and received no reply I contacted ebay and opened an case.
Nearly a week later the case is still ongoing .. no response has been received and no money.
No doubt (although I am new to this) eventually ebay will just close everything and I can relist the item.
is it worth my while leaving negative feedback ... or would this then probably mean the buyer (or non buyer really) will give me negative feedback too (which would be my first).

You don't have the option to leave negative feedback for buyers, even non paying bidders.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0

I hope you opened a NPB case so you can close it in your favour after the 8th day...no need to wait for their non-response.
The NPB strike against them counts as you can't leave negative feedback for a buyer.0 -
Sellers cant leave negative feedback, for anything.
I assume the case is a NPB. You can close the case four days after you open it. If there is no response to the case from the buyer, then neither side can leave feedback of any kind.0 -
Thank you for the replies.0

To clarify Ebay do not close everything, you need to close the case yourself after the 8th day to receive the refund of final value fees.No doubt (although I am new to this) eventually ebay will just close everything and I can relist the item.
The buyer if they haven't communicated will not be able to leave you any feedback, as others have said though there is no way to leave negative feedback for a non payer. If they get a strike for non payment and other sellers have theire settings adjusted accordingly then there is a reduced amount of auctions they can bid on and ultimately their account will be closed if they are serial non payers..0 -
Further to RFWs advice, have a read of this thread (see link below) to make sure your preferences are set as tight as possible to stop some of these time wasters

Why can't they?
I have just sold to a non payer who has 100% positive feedback but I have now noticed one of the comments is 'NO COMMUNICATION, NO PAYMENT, DO NOT TRUST THIS E BAYER.'
I couldn't understand why they gave the sale as positive but still wrote those comments....now I do!0 -
They can't because dodgy sellers were giving tit for tat feedback. Don't be tempted to leave a false positive the buyer can get it removed and ebay will penalise you..Why can't they?
