What is the best deal for a 1Mb or 2Mb Internet access with unlimited traffic rates? I am currently with Freedom2Surf and they offer £40+VAT a per month (though for 10Gb its £17.01+VAT and 50Gb its £21.27+VAT).
Unforuntately I would have to pay a regrade fee of £42.54+VAT or £15+VAT to the unlimited service.

Have a look on ww.ispreview.co.uk or https://www.adslguide.org.uk for ISP reviews and prices. Neither site is very good for 1/2Mb lists.
I'm currently with Freedom2Surf on 512k unlimited at £22.50 and thet are a great ISP at a very good price. They have lots of difference packages, but I cannot upgrade to any higher speed for free until after 12 months with them.
I have e-mailed them to ask if I can be upgraded (else I'll move), will see what they say.

Im with https://www.adsl4less.com 512k totally unlimited/unrestricted £14.99 per month no contract (migrate fee £14.99)
Or https://www.talktalk.co.uk (carphone warehouse) have a offer on at the mo 1mb free connection/modem £14.99 per month for 12 months and free landline calls bargain0 -
Hi there,
I have been trying to get my current ISP, Freedom2Surf to switch me over to 2Mbit for free (though I have not been with them more than 12 months yet) but there are having none of it. I've said that I would like to stay with them but see other ISPs offering 2Mbit for the cheaper prices. But they are not moving, they said it's bad economics but how is this? If they don't upgrade me then I move (and take my parents who use F2S with me) to another ISP and they lose customers.
Oh hum, looks like I'm stuck on 512k till at least October. :-(

If at all possible I would go with UKonline with it's 8mbit service at £29.99 a month. It is capped, but at a 500gb it's very generous for the price.
http://www.ukonline.net/broadband/dslcheck/prechecker.php?dsl_speed=8000
If UKonline isn't available in your area then I would go with Plus.net.
They might not be the absolute cheapest you can get but they do offer local rate support 24 hours a day and their service is fast and reliable.
They have 3 kinds of packages:
* Lite (Capped so you are limited to x gb per month)
* Broadband Plus (Uncapped, but p2p traffic is shaped during peak hours - i.e. web browsing and email take priority over peer 2 peer traffic during peak hours)
* Premier (Various peak capped packages available)
The 1mbit Broadband Plus package is only £19.99 a month, the 2mbit Broadband Plus package is £24.99 a month.
I'd stay away from the Lite packages as they cap too much, and also stay away from the premier packages as they are quite expensive vs. other unlimited ISPs now.0 -

Agree with the under £12 / month - actually £9.99 + VAT = £11.74 per month.
HOWEVER they also want a rather hefty £82.24 payment for setup. (Inc VAT)There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93
